Mini Skirt in the Past

My country school never allowed girls to wear any skirt above the knee and the boys never cared anyway. When you are raised in the country and on a farm, it's a different cultural. A lot of us were farm boys and girls and the boys looked at girls in a different light.

The kids that lived on a farm usually had a few chores to do in the morning before catching the school bus. Both the boys and girls had chores to do.. Mine was to gather the eggs and throw some hay in the stalls to the cows left overnight in the barn. Many of the girls also collected eggs and fed the smaller animals if they had any like the goats, calves and horses. After we were done with the chores, we changed shoes and got ready for school.

We ate breakfast as a family and my Gramps always said a prayer to start the day as we would hold hands at the breakfast table. WE never bought lunch until we were in high school. We carried our lunch until we were in 9th grade. It was a different cultural. Maybe farm kids in other parts of the country didn't do the same, but in my part, most of us played the same role. It came common to me.

Well if that is unattractive,I give up, but then I`m not woman!
It wasn’t meant as a sexist insult.
I think when older women go out with short skirts , fishnet stockings and extra colourful high heels, it looks desperate for attention and desperation is never an attractive look. Others may feel differently but they’re wrong. 😂 I’m only kidding. It’s just not anything I would wear at this age. If fact, I’ve never worn fishnet stockings. Was never a fan of them so I’m probably biased.

I think any woman who has a nice set of legs could pull off looking fabulous. Add fishnet stockings and it gives off the wrong impression. I’ve seen a few older women out this way, walking on the road wearing short shorts and they look great. If they also had fishnet stockings on as well, I would think differently. My brother in laws ex wife owns a lingerie shop and she sells a lot of those stockings also.

I wasn't at the age where I was allowed to wear a miniskirt. Too young and in danger of attacks.

On top of that, we had a paedophile living on our street. That was a nightmare for a few years. Thank goodness he disappeared when the whole area was slatted for demolition. Phew!

Back to clothing... I was allowed to wear the opposite lol! Maxi skirts, knee high boots. Wool onesie, with full zipper closure and belt. Everything had to be covered.

The only places I was allowed to wear miniskirts, were the three groups I belonged to.

1) the baton twirling group in 65 (blue velvet long sleeved top with miniskirt and ankle boots with red pompoms).
2) the colour guard group in 75 (part of majorettes) (gold lamé material that was so itchy, with white accents, Gogo boots in white PVC with high platforms).
3) the colour guard group in 76-77 (part of the drum corps) (black and red miniskirt with white short sleeved t-shirt and espadrilles with white kneehigh socks)

I wore a knee length skirt only once at secondary (10th grade equivalent) and was attacked by girls. Never again!!! I went back to jeans and never ever wore skirts until I was married lol!

I wore my first mini-skirt in 1967. As I walked down High Street in Columbus, a young guy ran his car up onto the sidewalk and hit a parking sign. My proudest moment!

Would I wear one today? Hah! It was so hot the other day I rolled my jeans up to mid calf and told my husband it was my version of short shorts.

I really enjoyed miniskirts while in high school and college! I also enjoyed the braless craze that occurred in those days.

I did not know a guy back then that did not enjoy how young women were dressing in the late 60's and early 70's....life was good! That included my dad and grandfather...

And yes, I too am a dirty old man....SMILE!

I think for younger men, sexiness may be all about a woman's body and the more they see the sexier she appears.
However, as a man gets older, he may admire a woman in a miniskirt, but considering her sexy is another matter. A woman can be sexy at any age, if that's who she is inside. She doesn't need a mini skirt or anything all that revealing.
More often than not, younger women show more of their bodies because they haven't yet learned the mysterious, alluring qualities that an older woman can possess. Sure Lauren Bacall made it look easy, but I think if any woman thinks of herself as sexy, she won't need a mini skirt to prove it.
