What do you think?

Dislike of Mom or Dad?

Not enough affection?

Got dumped & turned nasty bitter?

Learned to objectify the other sex from watching Mom or Dad?

How does this behavior begin in a person & why?

Your opinions....

The root causes? Men and Women.

Sorry BW. Being facetious of course. Like everything else, I don't think there is one simple answer. For me, the brain is all.
Physical abnormalities, chemical imbalances, random life experiences. All play a role. I have often thought that for men the fact that they are almost always raised by women plays into it. No matter how good the woman, she is by necessity the authoritarian controller of his life until he reaches the age of majority. Peer pressure is a huge factor. We have an awful culture
that seems to measure your manhood by how much contempt you have for women.

Misandry has many causes I believe. One of them is fear. No matter how intelligent or capable she is, a woman will always be
smaller and physically weaker than most men, a potential victim. The statistics re abuse suffered by women at the hands of men are outrageous.

I recall a man complaining to me of how worried most men are re being laughed at by women. My reply was less than sympathetic. I told him, men might worry about us laughing at them, we worry about men killing us. He got it.

Like Underock I believe there is not a single root cause.

Early nurturing experiences, father figure presence, attitudes and foibles of family and friends, life experience. Dating experiences, marriages and divorces. All can either mellow you out or cause you to take up the woman-hating banner.

Exactly, a perfect storm or combination & sequence of events. In combination with one's up bringing, self discipline or desire & ability/inability to learn, change or avoid these tendencies.

Or maybe a label is misused/over used making finding "the" answer impossible. Or under used early on which goes right back to upbringing.

Excellent point.

My guess would be unresolved negative experiences in early childhood perhaps???
