Ice skating was something I was never good at. I was lucky though because there was a really nice guy that would always hold me and we would skate together.
I'm really laughing as I post this. (I guess you had to be there)
46 years ago, I decided that competitive shooting would be fun. I went to the range with my first gun. After the first 6 shots, I looked at the target & it didn't have any holes in it. I had a range employee look at my gun & I said, "This gun is defective; it's not making any holes in the paper; maybe you can tell me what's wrong with it." I noticed he was trying very hard not to laugh. He said, "Let me try it out." He then put 6 holes in the target - all 6 in the same hole. Practice? What's that? Everyone on TV never misses. A few weeks later, I was doing well enough to compete.
OMG It's hard to imagine a lifetime without a car but you're right on one point - - -you've probably saved a small fortune without having to buy, operate, maintain, and insure any vehicles.taking my 1st driver's test
I took it 2 more times&failed.I realized I just didn't feel comfortable being behind the wheel
I've survived all these yrs without having a car,all the money I've saved
Marriage, at 17 with about half a brain cell, what was I thinking !!![]()
If at first you don't succeed......I am on hubby #4; were the first 3 failures? Nah, I don't think so as I learn many things on the way.
Dave, then you're in good company...just like "Sheldon" on Big Bang Theory and he's brilliant!OMG It's hard to imagine a lifetime without a car but you're right on one point - - -you've probably saved a small fortune without having to buy, operate, maintain, and insure any vehicles.![]()
Water skiing for me too. I tried it a few times, never did get up and then quit. Who cares? Snorkeling in the lagoon and next to the reef was more interesting. So was sailing.
Driving a stick shift. Anybody drive a standard on the first try?
Actually, it made one ragged hole....no separate holes. All six in same hole? Curiosity makes me ask. How could you tell?
Camper 6,I need to clarify my post.I never owned a car in my life. The money I was referring to is the car insurance& everything else about having a car.I have no desire to take driving lessons again. SueSo use that money to get driving lessons and get another car.
Second time around is different.
Well, loved the "stick". Had an Austin- Healey Sprite e and it was very short linkage, not sychronized into first gear shift. Now, we still have the classic '91 Jeep which is short linkage 5 speed. Gotta be sure you are in gear or it will screech on ya.Driving a stick shift. Anybody drive a standard on the first try?
