More vintage advertising

I have never tried Blatz. But it cannot be as bad as Schlitz. Hopefully that brand is not produced anymore.

I remember a TV advert in America, in 1972, with a bunch of lifesavers running down a beach in Australia, all smiling as they carried an esky (icebox) full of Schlitz. That really was some licence. I am sure no one in Australia, at least then, had ever heard of Schlitz beer.
 

Wow. 60 bucks was a lot of money in 1949. Some people weren't making that much in a week! These were probably great portable radios though.
I did a search and apparently is was popular to radio enthusiasts because of it's ability to receive distant and shortwave radio signals.
