More vintage advertising

I have never tried Blatz. But it cannot be as bad as Schlitz. Hopefully that brand is not produced anymore.

I remember a TV advert in America, in 1972, with a bunch of lifesavers running down a beach in Australia, all smiling as they carried an esky (icebox) full of Schlitz. That really was some licence. I am sure no one in Australia, at least then, had ever heard of Schlitz beer.

Yes. I remember them from Jimmy Durante show and Ted Mack amateur show, and a few more too.
Right, I'd forgotten about the Jimmy Durante show. It was a great show, with Durante always ending, "Good night, Mrs Calabash, wherever you are."

His was also Carmen Miranda's last appearance. In 1955 during the filming of her segment on the show, Miranda suffered a mild heart attack, but continued. She died later that night back at her hotel.
