My Last Colorings From An Adult Coloring Book

Hi, Diva, I can't add Google Play stuff to my laptop since it's Windows unless I download some kind of app to do that; which is probably ok, I want to check with my techie guy first, though. I did just download another coloring app from the MS store called Zen Coloring; I think I'm going to really like it, it's free too.

When I attempted to install Coloring+ on my desktop, I got a message that it was installed but I never did find it. Then when I went to Google's My Apps (on desktop), it showed that it was installed on my Android device :unsure: I didn't find it there either, so just searched for it in the Play Store, recognized it by the picture icon used by Coloring+ and downloaded it. I hope you will indeed enjoy Zen Coloring.

There seems to be a lot of online coloring apps out now, and I get ads for different ones all of the time on my facebook page. I have looked at several of them, and tried a couple, but the one that I like the very best is called “Pigment”, and at this time, it only works with Apple devices, like iPhone or iPad (but not with actual computer, like a MacBook) .
They have lots of pages to color, and add new ones all the time, plus a painting palette with all kinds of colors and types of brushes and pens.
You can also upload your own pictures and color those in the app and then save them back to your iPad.
I really like Steampunk pictures, and this is a steampunk rose that i just finished coloring on Pigment. They have a free app and a premium one that has more features.
I think you might like doing this, @hollydolly . There are simple pictures to color until you get the hang of it, so you do not have to do all those itty-bitty objects like you do in some of the adult coloring books.

That's beautiful and a bit mystical HFL. Thank you for sharing it. Since I no longer have an iPhone (never had an iPad) I can't use that app. What is the Steampunk category?
 
Pigment has books in all kinds of categories, from flowers, birds, oceans, landscapes, and cartoon characters, to intricate Mandelas, @OneEyedDiva .
Steampunk is just one of the categories that i enjoy coloring.
Some days I feel like working on a project picture, like the rose I just posted, and some days, I just want to relax and color something easy, and the app has a lot of options for both.

Even if you do not have an iPad, there are a lot of other coloring apps, just look in whatever App Store you have for your device and see what is available. I get facebook ads for different ones all the time, so I am sure that there would be some you like that will work on your device.

This is one that was a simple outline drawing, and easy to color, as opposed to the greyscales ones (like the steampunk rose) which take more time and effort.

I haven't colored in a long time in the books or using the apps. I've used a couple of different coloring apps, including by number. I wasn't crazy about the color by number ones because often I didn't like the color choices and I really had to expand the pictures to get all of the colors in, especially in the one below.

The app I decided to keep is just showing as Coloring in my tablet, which is the only place I use the coloring apps. All the apps have mandalas, animal and people pictures plus other categories, but none I've used produced pictures that look as realistic as yours. The first one you posted looks more like a painting. The picture of the girl was done with a color by number app and it took me months to finish it. The last two are the most recent ones that I did months ago and were done using the Coloring app.

I wouldn't for one have the patience, Yvonne tbh ... and secondly it's difficult for me not to hold normal pencils or pens..because of the painful OA in my fingers...

The ones that are greyscale actually look more like paintings once they are finished, and the outline ones always look like colored pictures, but can still look realistic, depending on the choice of how you color them.
Here is an example of how the greyscale landscape can look before you color it, and also shows one of the many color palettes you can choose from to color, as well as a sample of just a few of the different brushes and pencils that you have in Pigment.
This one is all ready to be colored, but I can choose different brushes and new color palettes as I go along. You can add metallic effects, or sparkles, laser, stuff like that to make the picture really unique.

I use my Apple Pencil, @hollydolly ; so it IS like holding an actual pencil in my hand to color with. I understand the arthritis, but the coloring seems to actually help to unstiffen my fingers. Sending you hugs, and prayers for your arthritis pain, my dear Friend.

All beautiful, I love Color Art too have quite a few cool books, pens, and stuff. A very relaxing way to meditate also. Hugs!
 
I am in the process of setting up one of my older iPads for a dear friend in north Idaho, so she can use Pigment and color, too. She and her husband are both in their 80’s , and he is in very poor health, and she said he mostly just sits and watches television , and she would enjoy having something else to do.

I am going to send her the ipad , all set up, and with the Pigment app on it, and her granddaughter is going to show her how to use it. I am sure that she is going to really like coloring with Pigment once she gets the idea of using the ipad and Apple Pencil.

One thing that I am working on learning, is coloring some of the old black/white photos that my mom took over the years. I can upload them into the pigment app and then color them; but because there is so much grey in the old pictures, it is hard to color over it enough to make the colors look real.
There are a lot of different brushes to use, so I believe that as I keep practicing, I can learn to color them better.

My folks lived in an old ranch house when I was born, and actually went through the depression and WW2 in that old house. It was said that at one time it was a stop for stagecoaches going to Canada through Idaho.
Here is a picture of the old ranch, from around 1940’s, that I colored with Pigment.

This is not exactly from an adult coloring book, but it kind of fits here. I have an app on my iPad called “Photo Bucket, and it turns pictures into paintings.
I took a picture of Kitten Little and blurred the background to look like paint blobs, and used the fine tuner on her face and body, and it came out looking kind of cute.

Pigment is an Apple app for the iPad, and it has all kinds of pictures to color, of every description. It has color palettes to choose from, or you can make your own from the color wheel.
There is an amazing choice of brushes and pencils that you can use, plus designs that you can paint into the picture.

Pigment has a free version and a premium one (with even more choices), and they add new pages to color all the time. It works best with an iPad and Apple Pencil , but you can use any stylus to color with if you do not have an Apple Pencil.
