Gram's chicken gravy truly the best and only she could make, she would put parsley in it...
I had Krispy Kremes twice. Both times I was at a KK bakery so they were fresh outta the grease. No idea what all the fuss is about. By my reckoning, they're mediocre doughnuts.Homemade French crullers that my mother learned to make from a Creole cook. The first time I took a bite of a commercial donut, I almost choked and spit it out! And no, Krispy Kremes don't cut it with me, sorry! I know folks love 'em, but it's just not the same.
Do you remember what was in it?I can say my mother made red cabbage that was very good. Also she made this cake out of her German cookbook that was kind of dry, but really good. I refered to it as the dry cake.
Was it honey cake? Brownish and subtly spiced. I used to buy that; it was cheap and I loved it. It was kind of dry though, so I put butter on it.I can say my mother made red cabbage that was very good. Also she made this cake out of her German cookbook that was kind of dry, but really good. I don't think so. It wasn't spiced. It was a German language cookbook so I would not have been able to read the recipe. That cake sounds good. Was it honey cake? Brownish and subtly spiced. I used to buy that; it was cheap and I loved it. It was kind of dry though, so I put butter on it.
