A friend has just got a new cat and is stuck for a name for it.I thought many of you have or had cats and would be sure to come up with some good ideas. The animal in question is just a run of the mill moggy, not a fancy breed, and is black and White and a male.

The cat I have now, is called Snoopy because she is so nosy! It doesn't matter what I'm doing, she has to be right in the middle of it so she can check it out. There were two more I used to have that I called Spiff and the other was Duffy. I don't remember why. I don't come up with normal names. :)

DW, we had a beautiful black male cat named Lucifer when I was a teen. He had a heart-shaped face, and huge emerald green eyes with blue flecks. Wonderful cat, truly a son of the morning. Lol. I miss him still, he could bat hummingbirds right out of the air. Gruesome, I know, but talented.

BOOOOOOOOOO! I feed and LOVE hummingbirds.

We had a kitty called Silver, one called Leo and one called Sleaves, Woody, Rocky, Lu, Fu, and many many more.

Agree with AZ Jim.

I like Moses for a male cat.

When my last old girl passed away, I bought a large name your baby book and found my two littermates names from that. Names fascinate me and since I never had kids, I take pet naming very seriously.

I went through a phase for many years where all my cats had to be named with a name starting with "P".

Hence, I lived with Pasha, Ping, Pyewacket, Pete and so many others.

Right now I live with a tuxedo who's named SnagglePuss - a name my roomie gave him.

Hey, that's neat, a friend of mine has a Maine Coon called SnagglePuss. Cute.

Someone told me that if you name a cat beginning with S the cat will always come when called because they respond to the S sound. Hmmmm.

My black and white Manx was Oreo. We have or have had Divot, Bunker, Catdog, Jack, Snowshoes, Coco, Spider, Sundae, P.J., Mama, Scruffy, Peter, Fatty, Studley, Grady, Gracie, Stubby, Sneaky, Baby, Pearl, Sixto, Violet-oh boy,I know there are more but I can`t think anymore....:)

My current cat is Gabriel, named after long ago children's story about a wide eyed mischievous tiger tabby kitten. It would make me sad to run though all the names of the dear ones at the Rainbow Bridge now.,,

Thanks everyone, I shall pass a lot of these names on to my friend. I particularly like Jeeves, but it's her choice not mine.A lot of inventive names though. when I was Young a friend had a cat called Tiddles [ no imagination there]well, one day Tiddles looked a bit different, and when I said this I was given a strange look and told it was a new cat, but that all the cats they had were called Tiddles, weird or what?

I think I would call the cat either Jeeves or Bootsie, actually it has made me want to get a at myself just thinking about names.;)
