As a kid who grew up in a small mountain town in Colorado, I had to walk past the local bakery on main street every morning going to school. They always had the smell of bread and/or sweets in the air around that bakery. Their cream puffs were to die for. Sometimes, I would hunt pop bottles to turn in at 2 cents each, until I had enough to buy a cream puff. Yum, yum.... although sometimes I would decide and a Chocolate Soda down at the drugstore at the end of the block. When I was a kid, we could buy those cream puffs with real cream filling. And they were big.
