I think it was Steve Martin who once did a comedy routine about deviled eggs, which he referred to in Spanish as “huevos del Diablo,” or “eggs of the devil.” To this day, I refer to them as devilish eggs, a reference I find entertaining…
We just thought of a way to make them on a Keto diet. Boil them and then half them, spoon the yolk out and blend a special ranch style dressing with them. Put back in the white, sprinkle paprika....I like the red bell pepper and some black olive topping. YUM!
If your picnic gets rained out or if you have leftover deviled eggs line them up in a casserole, top with cheese sauce, bread crumbs, and bake at 350F for 30-40 minutes until the sauce is bubbly and the crumbs are brown.
My family loves deviled eggs. I seem to make them more in the summer than winter.
I never liked making them because I would run out of the yolk mixture.
Now I add a couple of the cooked whites to the yolk mixture and I can really pile it high into the remaining halves. With the other ingredients that I add to the yolk mixture you can't tell that I cheated.
