New governing coalition has been formed and is prepared to replace Netanyahu

I agree that Netanyahu has been there for much too long. Under his leadership, Israel has veered so far over to the right that there is no hope for peace. They have to find a way to have a two-state solution.

Obviously, this in no way excuses Hamas firing rockets into Israel. Would the U.S. tolerate Canada or Mexico firing rockets into our country? Both sides have to agree to give a little. But above all, the terrorism from Israel's neighbors has to stop.

I think Netanyahu has outlasted his welcome. Give someone else a chance, someone who isn't pandering to the far right.

Naftali Bennett favors handing control of Gaza to Egypt, which will make it easier for Palestinians to acquire weapons and carry out more deadly attacks on Israel resulting in more wars. He has said that there will never be an independent Palestinian state, which is inline with Netanyahu's policies. And he's in favor of Israel annexing more of the West Bank, which is also inline with Netanyahu's policies.

Israeli politics is so complicated.

Naftali Bennett would be sharing power, not be in power, year after year after year. He will share with the left, a stunning scenario.

Leadership has never mattered when it come to Israel / Palestine. Conflict is in their DNA So called peace treaties are a long running joke.

I am completely out of the loop of the current state of affairs, but Egypt is not at war with Israel is it? I remember Sadat going to Israel way back in the day, I was in Jerusalem at the time and the radio was playing the 'Give Peace a Chance' song a lot and everyone was very happy to have peace with Egypt. I mostly remember it because I went on a date to the peace celebration demonstration with a Chasidic boy in 'disguise' (didn't wear his coat or hat, tucked his curls behind his ears, and enjoyed not being recognized by friends) and some Chasidic older man recognized him and went into a long loud lecture in Yiddish that caused everyone around us to stare at us. Embarrassing!
It sounds like a great solution if Egypt got Gaza, then instead of war there could be another nice Mediterranean tourist destination, a win-win-win-win!
