New hobby: Scotch!

Just the smell makes me heave 🤢
That usually only happens to those who have consumed a bit too much at some time in the past...it ruins the drink going forward. I have the same problem with bourbons in college I about killed myself on the stuff...I cannot even smell it now!

Had that same problem with beer, same cause. Only after years of self directed therapy I have been able to over come it.

I don't care for Irish whiskey and I loathe vodka and bourbon. In the past, I've been given bottles of vodka and bourbon, and I had a struggle to give them away. Obviously not popular amongst my a acquaintances. Whisky and Gin are my favourites, and I do use a cut glass tumbler.

I'd recomment Red Breast 12 for Irish. Very nice!

I opened this one last night... It's superb!

Allegatorob...Irish Whiskey is not at the top of my list. I favor a Single Malt Scotch Whiskey, GLENMORANGIE being my favorite right now...

Also, having a son who graduated from Mississippi State University, LSU is not our favorite SEC university either...

For the longest time I drank Chivas Regal, but while visiting a friend I was offered Jameson triple distilled Irish whiskey. Been my favorite ever since, it's very smooth & has a light flavor I really enjoy.

Back in the late 70s I was on a Jack Daniels kick. Maybe sometime I'll pick up a bottle for old times sake.

Edit: before I forget- I put Johnny Walker on my list, the one time I tried both the Red and Black I didn't care for them; am willing to re-visit the JW experience.

For me Johnny Walker Red is just to 'woody' for me. Now Johnny Walker Black is something different, and is pretty good I think...let me know after you try what you think...

Blue is the one!
One of the main ingredients is from Caol Ila - one of my fave smokey/peaty Islay distilleries.

Despite being situated in an absolutely podunk desert town, the local supermarket is surprisingly well stocked(hehe, folks gotta have their booze). I've been sucking up the Ballantines, it's OK but I picked up a bottle of Cutty Sark this morning, which is my go-to for blended Scotch. I have not tried the other two in 1.75ml bottles(Scoresby, Clan MacGreagor) yet.

Nathan, no I have not, but since I like the Black I am betting the Blue Lable would be really good also. If I have a chance to, I will taste some...
I once bought a JW sampler that had Red, Black, Gold, and Blue. To my taste, and my taste only, I liked the Black the best.
