Right now I'm using stemless wine glasses, but I ordered a set of these: Glencairn GlassesDo you scotch drinkers pour it into a nice crystal glass? I think that‘s an important part of the experience.
Thank you. I did not know that.Glen is a Scottish term for valley. I think a lot of valleys have a favorable climate for all that a distillery or winery might need
‘In the valley’ glasses!Right now I'm using stemless wine glasses, but I ordered a set of these: Glencairn Glasses
Yep, it tastes better than it costs.I'm quickly learning that adopting Scotch imbibing as a hobby can become pricey.
That usually only happens to those who have consumed a bit too much at some time in the past...it ruins the drink going forward. I have the same problem with bourbons in college I about killed myself on the stuff...I cannot even smell it now!Just the smell makes me heave![]()

Had that same problem with beer, same cause. Only after years of self directed therapy I have been able to over come it.That usually only happens to those who have consumed a bit too much at some time in the past...it ruins the drink going forward. I bet your elbow was awful sore after all that therapy...!Had that same problem with beer, same cause. Only after years of self directed therapy I have been able to over come it.
I'd recomment Red Breast 12 for Irish. Very nice!I don't care for Irish whiskey and I loathe vodka and bourbon. In the past, I've been given bottles of vodka and bourbon, and I had a struggle to give them away. Obviously not popular amongst my a acquaintances. Whisky and Gin are my favourites, and I do use a cut glass tumbler.
For me Johnny Walker Red is just to 'woody' for me. Now Johnny Walker Black is something different, and is pretty good I think...let me know after you try what you think...Back in the late 70s I was on a Jack Daniels kick. Maybe sometime I'll pick up a bottle for old times sake.
Edit: before I forget- I put Johnny Walker on my list, the one time I tried both the Red and Black I didn't care for them; am willing to re-visit the JW experience.
Nathan, no I have not, but since I like the Black I am betting the Blue Lable would be really good also. If I have a chance to, I will taste some...@Timewise 60+ , have you tried Johnny Walker Blue Label? I have not, but I recall a former co-worker mentioning how much he enjoyed it.
Blue is the one!Back in the late 70s I was on a Jack Daniels kick. Maybe sometime I'll pick up a bottle for old times sake.

I once bought a JW sampler that had Red, Black, Gold, and Blue. To my taste, and my taste only, I liked the Black the best.Nathan, no I have not, but since I like the Black I am betting the Blue Lable would be really good also. If I have a chance to, I will taste some...
