Hello everyone. Thought I'd give the forum a try as I am bored beyond tears after a horrendous winter which was quite unusual for Long Island. Bringing in the garbage can, checking my mail, and making sure my 88 year old neighbors are still alive is about the extent of my social calendar until golf season. This time of the year I spend a lot of time on the Golf Course, but due to a slight golf injury at the end of last season I have not played yet but plan on my first round of the season this week.
I am a really good golfer, a really good talker, and to stay trim, a really good walker! (LOL) That being said, sadly, I recently lost my companion of 20 years, and my dog "Harry" of 17 years. Ny 3 sons and 4 grand-children live in SC, TX, & CO, so I am all alone when not playing golf, and it is starting to really get to me! I know there are people out there but it is so difficult to make new friends as a senior. I can't understand why because I was always so extroverted, happy, fun loving, and "witty" when I was younger. Now, I seem to be afraid of my own shadow!
I am very fit and trim, a very good dresser, a great dancer and yet I do not have a clue as to how to find that 65-70 year old woman who everyone has been telling me has been searching for me for 6 months! Hah, Ha.... I'll peruse the forum for a while and try to learn what others do in a like situation. If I can't find a companion, I'd at least like to have a couple of "Pen Pals" as it were!
