Ok, I know that many wouldn't agree with me but I am finding more & more evidence that the quality of new movies has really gone down the drain in comparison to the old ones. For example, last night we started watching "The Silence" with Hugh Bonneville & Douglas Henshall on BritBox Channel. If you watch closely, the movie is terrible.
Many people talk at the same time, many scenes shot in the dark so it's hard to tell what the hack is even going on & most of the scenes are shaky like the camera was on the shoulders of a man running around & shooting. There are sometimes very closeup scenes showing a person's one eye & only his nose. Really? What is the point? One Eye & the nose does not add anything to the story. There are many movies like this. I am getting so disgusted with these new movies that often I order DVDs from Amazon where I feel that I get quality entertainment.
Last night I put on "Mr. Novak" about a high school teacher & then "Highway Patrol". Both films were TV shows from the 50s but the actors spoke clearly & they shot scenes from a tripod not from someone shoulder. Notice I haven't said anything about profanity but that is another topic. So, anyone here find the same thing when you watch movies or is it just me?
