No Politics! Early Voting Was Very Easy and Well Organized In My SC County

My wife and I both voted early and the process was smooth and easy. We did have to turn in the mail-in ballots that we had requested so that they could be taken out of the system. A lot of other people were doing this as well.
I thought that the polling place was very well organized and ready to handle the much larger crowd that showed up. I would guess that 7 to 8 times as many people are voting early compared to all of the previous years when we have exercised this option.
There were a lot of older people in wheelchairs and using walkers this year. Normally, they probably just mail in their ballots.
Overall, I'll give an "A" to the way this is being handled here in South Carolina this year.
 

We voted in person, waited maybe twenty five minutes. I like the new system our county uses. The voting machine prints a paper ballot to check your selections before you place it in the scanner. They also had drive up voting for anyone that wanted to use that method.
 
My wife & I voted on Monday as we were in town that day. We've been getting the absentee/ early voting ballot forms everyday in the mail from all sources, AARP, both parties, some of the candidates, and the courthouse. It has always gone smoothly and we've always voted early in since our polling place was moved out of town.

The only downside is that even though we have voted we will continue getting an onslaught of mail and robo calls about the election.
 
I'll wait until election day and vote in person.

I'm afraid that some late-breaking news may change my mind on how I will vote not only for the candidates but for the propositions on the ballot.
 
No politics for sure but .....

Election day should be just that, election day Not election week, election month, or election season only ....election day ! The day one reports to the polling place during the normal 12 hours allotted and cast ones vote on that day.

Like was recently said ...... If you can riot in person , you can vote in person!

Supposedly, mail-in ballots were sent out yesterday, so we should get them early next week. We always drop them off at polling places, just in case there's a screwup at the post office or with delivery.
 
I'm waiting to get my mail-in ballot. I'm disabled and voting in person was a chore. I like that mail in thing. Let's face it, who wants to wait hours in long lines to vote. That must have discouraged a lot of people from voting.

Being disabled is a different story. You are one of the few that should have mail in available {IMO} I myself may need it likely before the next election.

As for waiting in line, for an able bodied person ? No excuse ........ go vote.
 
Husband and I have been voting via mail-in ballots for many years. I like that it gives us the time to look carefully at each candidate, and I'm not talking only about the main candidates. This year we have many judges we have to vote to keep or remove as well as several propositions and other offices, and I don't want to make those decisions lightly.

We do have a thing called early voting, Rosemarie, which I think used to mean that you had to go to a voting place such as a school or town hall, and cast your ballot. It was mainly used because people were expecting to be out of town on election day.

Then, the mail-in ballots became popular, and they are extremely popular now, due to coronavirus. I voted that way this year, for the first time. It's certainly a lot easier than waiting in line, and these days, much safer.
 
I applied for a mail in ballot a few weeks ago. Got tired of waiting so I went online to print the application out. So I filled it and mailed the same day. Went I got back home I found the ballot I applied for finally arrived. I filled it out and mailed that on the same also. Everything is pointing to unusually high number of voters this year especially among young voters. The seniors are predicted to roll out and vote more this year as well. I think I know why.
 
First, I have received 3 mail-in ballots. How did that happen? I didn’t even apply for a mail-in ballot.

Anyway, I guess that I am either old-fashioned or a traditionalist. My family has always voted on Election Day. I can remember back in the day when Election Day was a big deal around here. People wore buttons of their favorite candidate, signs in the yards, banners hanging across the front porch, signs on cars and on and on. People had fun on that day.

Not anymore. I have been called to residences to break up fights between family members and sometimes others. I had one instance where a neighbor put a big sign in his front yard just to tease the man directly across the street from his house. He even lit it up at night. The neighbor had a small yard sign and this guy has this big sign in his front yard all lit up. On election night, he went outside and set off fireworks and was blowing his truck’s horn. What was I supposed to do? No laws were broken, but I asked him very nicely to be a bit more respectful of his neighbor’s feelings, after all he was going to have to talk to him again sooner or later. He agreed and turned off the lights, put the fireworks away and stopped blowing his horn.
 
911, some states send them out automatically to all residents. Maybe you got three because your name was spelled slightly differently on each one?
