Obsolete...

Most single-use items such as alarm clock or calculator. Smart phones/tablets or their ilk will perform all these functions (if they do not already).

I'm guessing all these payment forms being posted aren't referring to the future being a utopia.

Cable TV will be gone.

Disney will be on its last legs by its 100th.

So, rpg, are you suggesting that the medical and pharmaceutical professions are deliberately keeping cancer going because it's a money maker for them?

I have always had this suspicion. Too much grant money to rake in. And of course if there ever is a cure, the pharma companies will make sure it is too expensive for most people.

What do you think will be obsolete in ten years?

Everthing I’ve bought
But, change the time span to ten minutes

I’m on some sorta universal watch list

Whatever I buy, a red alert goes throughout the world;
‘He bought it! No need to make any more or support this item!’

Case in point;

A few years back, I was watching the price on midgrade DSLR cameras
At the time they were around $2500 and up, and stayed there

I needed a better camera than my Pentax K-1000 (all manual)

Got tired of waiting

Bought a midgrade Pentax SLR (film type, but basic automatic)

Once the sale was final, DSLR prices dropped like rocks

I can imagine the salesmen at the bar that night;
‘Man, I thought he’d never buy it, but here he come.
And, get this, he bought the extended warranty after I threw in a couple rolls of obsolete film! BRAAAHAAHAAA’

Days later, bought my Nikon DSLR D50 for around $500
Sold my relatively new Pentax to a college student needing a film type camera for $100

Today I bought a Scandisk flash drive for my iPhone (they’re hard to come by for iPhones, as Apple really doesn’t like anyone actually using their devices for anything other than dialing 911, or calling yer dead gramma)

Anyway, after cajoling the young lady at Verizon to help me, we (actually she) got all my pics on the iPhone downloaded onto my brand new mini drive

Only, they’re sideways

With no way to turn them

Without getting onto the Scandisk helpline

And their helpline message is ….’sorry, we cannot help you, Gary O’…..HAAAAAHAAAAHAAAHAAA’

I don't agree cable t.v. will be gone. It depends on what will replace it.

There are plenty of areas where over the air reception is not available. Apartments will still have cable t.v. It's convenient.

I didn't say cable will be gone. People will select the information they need on the internet, instead of having random commercial information spoon fed to them.
