Old Choccy Memories

I enjoyed the Cadbury Milk Tray bars. We had a similar bar called the Sky Bar.

I also enjoyed the Cadbury Fruit & Nut Bar.

My all-time favorite chocolate treats are Ice Cubes and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

It's funny looking at these and it brings back memories of when I was a kid. I hated chocolate, all sweets, and Icecream. My older brother and sister loved all of them. My sister was soo good she would even eat the sweets in my Easter basket. Now of the 3 of us, I am the only one that has diabetes. So of course now I love any kind of chocolate, sweets, and Icecream. Yummy !

There were these chocolate coins that came in a mesh bag. They were covered with a golden foil that needed to be peeled off to access the chocolate. This was slow and frustrating work for a minimal payoff! Perhaps this was intended as some kind of life lesson... šŸ˜‰

The one "choccy" memory that stands out for me and always will, are liquor filled chocolates, the ones you find at Christmas time.

It was as if we won the lottery when a box would be found under the tree, because we never got them every Christmas, but so darned good they were.

my all time fave candy:

Back in the early 1970s we had a chocolate candy factory in down town Manhattan across the street from where I worked. Every once in a while I'd stop in to buy their own home made brand of Chunky's. Ohhhhhh boyyyyy ~ was it ever good!!
