On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate your sense of humor?

1 = I do not think anything is funny

10 = I laugh at funerals

I may be around 53 to 86 on that scale
I laugh at everything and anything I perceive as funny, and most things seem pretty doggone funny after it clangs around awhile in this bean of mine.
So, yeah, I'm somewhere between off the scale and in need of meds

Now, about that hair cut

I'd say about an 8 for me with sense of humor. I did laugh at a funeral once, too, btw. It wasn't purposely though, it was very nervous laughter.

I would rate myself with a 9. I enjoy humor but I doubt if I would be able to laugh at a funeral. Of course you never know if something will strike me funny.

Dry Humor?
Never really understood definition of dry humor (it is defined as delivering funny events, jokes with a deadpan expression as Johnny Carson was wont to do)).
I've encountered two, three curmudgeons, that those who knew well excused by saying, 'Ah, that's just his dry humor."
I remain vague on definition.
Sense of Humor 1-10, humor is best experienced alone

I agree with Keesha, laughter is meant to be shared. Think of the good you can do for some people that need a laugh!!!
That’s exactly right. People who are depressed, scared, lonely or physically sick can greatly benefit from laughter. Laughter is universally accepted and appreciated by all.

My mom had a stroke two months ago and she hasnt been the same since. She’s in hospital waiting for long term care. Her mode of communication is repeating certain sentences over and over again where she occasionally states that she can’t help it. It’s heartbreaking to witness so whenever I go to visit her I always get her laughing. We all laugh so much that we attract others to her room where they join in. That’s the thing about humour and joy, it’s contagious. There’s nothing more satisfying than putting a smile on someone’s face who really needs it.

LoL , the airforce trains their transport pilots to contour fly in all weather, day or night. They fly at 300 meters , don't know their speed. I do know that when on a Kayak on the lake they ripple the water with the sound from their motors each of which produce 2700 horse power. There are 4 of them on each plane. That smile:devilish:, I have been on them doing stuff like that....huge grin....lol

Does this mean you are ex-military?
My husband is ex- military and has been on many of them. Once he left the military he worked on a few of them.

They are huge but compared Galaxy or starlifters they appear small.

I have the same fascination but with motorcycle engines. I love the sound of their engines changing gears as they zoom down the highway as it echoes through the distance air. Maybe not exactly the same but I understand the concept. It’s a thrill all the same.

I used to write comedy part time with moderate success. I still do . My sketches are rather short and full of innuendos and not necessarily sexual.

My rating of the being funny is defined for the amount of time it takes for the recipient of my joke to get it and burst into laughter. I had a case reported back to me that after I told a joke to someone a day later in a train going to Hammersmith he suddenly got it and burst into laughter and was complaining that people around him thought he was bonkers as he was on his own

The people in the USA have basically no concept of intelligent comedy. That does not mean they are not clever, it simply means they like slap stick...while folks in the UK like it a bit subtle and a type of humour that requires gray matter to process

I cannot say if I am funny or not that would be for others to decide

You do realize, don't you, that many on this forum are Americans who would highly disagree with your condescending characterization of our tastes in comedy.

Then again, perhaps you were floating this post for others to decide if you're funny. From my perspective, so far not so much. And I happen to have a very good sense of humor.
