One of The Suspects A Girl in Denver School Shooting

You have to wonder about that situation. What is going on?

Criminal activity? Informal (illegal) arms dealership?
An underground militia planning to rise up against the government - unlikely IMO.
Just an obsession that has become out of control?

How did they come to the notice of the police?

So many questions. This could be a fascinating case to follow to its conclusion.

Sorry about taking the thread off topic.

Mostly old to very old firearms. It appears to be a wealthy person's collection ... I'm going with Warrigal's speculation about a hobby that got out of control.

Hope both of them are charged as adults and they get whats coming to them in prison courtesy of other prisoners. Too harsh? Sorry they brought it on themselves when they decided to kill and maim others.

About the LA resident with a stash of over 1000 firearms, he was just exercising his God-given right to bear arms, just like it says in the Constitution. You never know when he might need to use all of them in self-defense. Maybe all of them at one time.

If every household kept a similar arsenal, that would put an end to crime in this country. If some nuclear weapons were added, so much the better.

And so goes the mantra of the NRA. The more weapons the better. After all, we may have to fight off the government in future years (according to some).

I can't believe some of the crackpot reasoning regarding gun ownership. I've always owned a gun or two, since I had my first '22 rifle at age 12 or 13. Still do. but I've never joined any group such as the NRA or locally. The guns stay at home, put away safely so that if someone breaks in the front door, I'd never have time to get and load one anyway.

I have traveled up and down the east coast and as far west as Ohio, on vacations and with the race team, a few years back. Never carried one then and doubt if I ever will. I can't believe that many gun folks today, crap their pants at the thought of going to the grocery store without being armed. That's truly pathetic, in my mind, but it's strongly encouraged by gun manufacturers as it lines their pockets.

I don't carry a portable electric drill with me either, and there have been times that the drill and a few assorted bits would have been helpful, more times than when I would have needed my gun which in my case has been never.

The term "nut case" is what obviously comes to mind. But I'd still be curious to hear this guy's twisted reasoning.

Maybe this was just a bizarre example of that mental illness where people, usually loners, accumulate dozens of cats, or when they die and someone finally enters their house, they have thousands of boxes of every newspaper they ever read, or whatever. This guy had the gun acquisition illness, and carried it to extremes.

Reassuring, isn't it, that someone as sick as that was able to acquire all those guns? How and from whom did he get them?

A simple question. How do Americans feel about travelling overseas and are not allowed to carry a weapon ? Do they fear for their personal safety?

There was a rally today to honor the student who died, and those who were wounded. It appears that the students are Smarter than many of the speakers who were present. After listening to some of the speakers using this venue to express the "expected" political and gun control advocacy, several of the students got up and walked out while chanting "Mental Health". THIS is quite obviously the root cause of so many of these recent shootings, and is NOT being addressed.
