Over 100 cars burned in Sweden overnight in different locations by suspects described as youth gangs. A coordinated attack.

Apparently there have been issues in the past with this kind of vandalism right before schools starts but penalties have been increased over the last few years.

I thought the phrase was 'Is Paris Burning?'

Yikes, the article said it's a "tradition" there to burn cars before going back to school, but this was the biggest attack. I've never heard of this "tradition", has anyone else?

Ye gads, a car runs into pedestrians in front of the London Parliament building, a busy bridge collapses in Genoa, over 100 cars burned in Sweden? Have we reached Armageddon?

In Europe seemingly coordinated activity in less than a 24 hour span.

We just have 24/7 news and drones now. Bad things always happened- we just didn't find out about it in the past.

Agreed. Since the beginning of "news", bad things have been happening. People just weren't interested back then in the bad things that happen outside their area unless they were particularly newsworthy. Now, today, everything is newsworthy to the press. Anything to sell to the public for ratings.

Add to that, out-of-control sensationalism. ABC's and NBC's Nightly News reporters all have an aggressive attitude reporting anything and everything except the last 5 minute human interest story...too little too late to make the news station seem like they're really caring individuals.

But some stories in the news like this thread's topic don't need any sensationalism...it's bad enough on it's own

That's great, Manatee! You should be a headline writer!

More seriously, does anybody know what the point supposedly was about burning 100 cars?
