O.K. I finally had to look it up, because I didn't know where the "OZ" was that you guys are always referring to.
It obviously had nothing to do with Judy Garland or the "Tin Man".
So I find out it means "Australia" or "Ounce". Fine. I was just going to say how do you make the connection between those things and "OZ" when a light bulb went off. So now I get that "Oz." is the abbreviation for "ounce". I only need to know how "ounce" became synonymous with "Australia".
This sounds like one for Warrigal, but can any of you Aussies give me a clue? :shrug:
