But if I remember my history correctly, it was that horribleness that prompted the creation of social programs, and also mandatory education for children...up to like 3rd or 4th grade, I think.

was there safety nets for people in Washington DC or NYC in the 1800's....?
 
I've told this story on here before, but for the newbies on this thread...

When I was 2 years old I was abudcted in the street...yes my mother allowed me out to play by myself.. albeit with other kids in the street..it was a quiet road in the suburbs of the city.. . .. in the days when it might be a week before we saw a car....

I remembered then and I still remember to this day, a womaan on a pushbike with a big basket at the front , picked me up, and put me in the basket.

I have absolutely no recollection of whether she spoke to me or not, but I let her pick me up so I can only imagine she said something I knew..or about someone I knew..

Anyway that's the only memory I have of it...

of course my parents called the police.. and a search began.

At midnight that night, a bus driver taking his bus back to the depot at the end of his shift in the city centre, slowed down for what he thought was a big bundle of something in the middle of the road. he got out and discovered the ''bundle'' was me asleep

He called the police who called the doctor who said I had been drugged...with what they didn't know but a sedative of some kinnd probably

if the bus driver hadn't stopped it was clear that the abductor meant for me to be killed , and perhaps people would think I'd wandered off by myself

However the consensus was that I was otherwise unharmed... and they never caught the woman..because clearly I had only a baby's recollection.. a lady with a headscarf on a bike..

To this day there's no way of knowing if I had been sexually abused..

I guess they used to think that the only reason someone would be a pedo is if someone molested them when they were children at the same age they're most attracted to now. The brain waves of normal people and pedos made that way by getting molested when they were children are the same; the born pedos have weird, alien-looking brainwaves.

Maybe most child molesters are true psychopaths. A psychopath is born, not made, due to an irreparable lack in a specific region of the brain, I don't recall which.

After reading through the article, it doesn't just stem from autism. It also mentions pedophilia, and that last point indeed makes it very difficult to build resilience, because that is simply a disease/addiction. I have already witnessed this in my immediate circle, and it is very difficult to defend yourself against it. Look, if you don't feel this yourself, you can't really judge it.


I cannot with these people. Get castrated then. No wonder they call my country a pedo paradise. I have seen these kind of comments so often. Always with rapists, child rapists or mothers that murder their kids. Oh golly there are only losers in this situation. She must have felt so bad. And if someone has the nerve to say lock them up and they're horrible, they get mad that they are so judgemental and attack this poor victim.

If we don't try to understand these urges, we can never hope to find a solution. I'm not expert, but from what I understand, there is no "cure" for pedophiles. Any more than there are "cures" for gay people, or heterosexuals. But truly understanding the problem ought to lead to an eventual solution.

Anger, a desire for revenge, a desire for harsh punishment, is understandable. But it really doesn't help.

Disease has a definition of: a disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or plant, especially one that has a distinctive group of symptoms, signs, or anatomical changes and often a known cause. As such, I can see why it's considered a disease.

People guilty of these acts deserve their harsh punishments, but we simply must continue to address the causes and symptoms are best we can for the hope of a better future.
 
Then there is the dominance, power and control over the most innocent. Or just plain use of them.

I definitely think there is a group theory on pedophiles and it is often true but I don't think it applies to all of them.

Regardless society is not safe from such types. Children certainly are not.

What is it called when a perpetrator that is say in their 20s or 30s rapes an 80 year old woman and kills her? What is their purpose?

Or the even sicker thing, those that mess with a dead victim...

I just think there's a lot more to it all than one general thought. Or that it does not apply to all necessarily.

Some would do it to anyone...

But by that reasoning, you'd think that the pedos who are born that way would generate more pity. Being born like that means your whole life and any children unfortunate enough to come in contact with you are completely without hope, since there's no cure. Heck if you were born that way and were religious, you'd have to figure god hates you and every child you molested.
 
I'm no expert but I'm not sold on the "born that way" on anything. Not just this subject.

I won't say it can't be true but I'm not sold that it is true or certainly that it is always true.

I think generalizing in general (no pun intended) is just not always the case with some.

The studies done have never said that it is always true; they said that it seems to be true in about 50 percent of cases. And there have been more than one study done.
