Pepe Le Pew Is Cancelled

I do appreciate Pepe as kind of an artifact or example of a stereotype in motion, hastening to add that I do not ascribe to his beliefs or actions! Pepe is not an A-list Warner Bros. character, not having the depth, range, or appeal of say, Bugs Bunny or Daffy Duck; my God, did I just say that?! Rather, he was a predictable supporting cast player, kind of like Hugh Heffner in fur. Still, it's hard not to have a little liking for this rogue, this would-be French love god who was a self-mocking character. Many of us knew people who thought that they were a better catch than they actually were...and Pepe was, after all, just a 'toon... 😸

I heard he developed a serious drug problem during the '70s and lost most of his money due to drugs and gambling. Sad. He wound up playing bit parts in crappy, third rate cartoons.

I don't care what the roadrunner does I will always love him!

Our oldest daughter wanted to marry Mighty Mouse, after she found out that daddy already had a very jealous wife.

don't understand a lot of the threads lately ?
I do know Betty Boop was a sexy flapper lady, released in the thirties, released in the mid 50's...

She was a cartoon character with enough sexual content to keep the adults interested.
That i understood,--- today ?

Homer Simpson is presented as a ineffectual slob, the household dynamics apparently appeal to mass audiences-why?
Here's a fun fact; Betty Boop was originally drawn as an anthropomorphic dog (as in canine). She gradually evolved to become the shapely, big-eyed flapper girl. Early cartoons could be the stuff of nightmares...

It's nothing to do with the younger generation. The 'Loony Left' have been let loose and are doing their best to disrupt normality. However, I think the tide is turning at last, in Britain anyway. Enough is enough!

While I do agree with the 'looney-left' comment, I still do believe there is a generational component as well.

I absolutely agree, Bugs! That way, our U.S. response to the pandemic would be much more adult, sensible, and intelligent. We'd reach herd immunity a lot faster, with all the maskless, crowd-loving, sycophantic swaggerers out of the gene pool for good! Let's do it!

This is another internet rumor gone viral. According to Warner Bros., Pepe was written out of the movie a year before the NYT article. WB did not state why. Plus, what the NYT published was an "oped" piece, which is a letter to the editor type piece. I'm tired of these BS media hypes.
