Perfumes.....

I use to when I was younger, not anymore
I was on the bus today sitting next to a woman, who I felt had too much perfume on,almost made me gag, luckily she got off a couple stops later
I absolutely hate that, it makes me unable to breathe, the same for guys wearing too much after shave or body spray... I'm always telling my o/h to lay off so much body spray, he smells like a perfume parlour .. *ugh*

Nope, nobody has bothered to sniff me in years!

This thread reminded me of the perfume counters in the old department stores.

My maternal grandmother would always cut through the store on her way to the bus stop for a spritz of something expensive to lift her spirits.

I used to wear a lot of different department store fragrances back when my mom would gift them to me. Now it's an assortment from B&BW or essential oils & blends. I enjoy smelling men's colognes (my fav is Drakkar Noir) but my husband doesn't care for them.

I sometimes like putting "Sea Island Cotton" (by Bath & Body Works) body lotion on my hands. Someone always says "mmm what is that?" It just smells delightfully clean...not a perfume smell. It has Shea & Vitamin E in it too. I'm careful to use a little and rubbed it in good.

I don't think I've worn perfume since I wore "Evening in Paris" to my Prom. ☺

I've been using Sea Island Cotton. We had gifted it to my mother for the last few years. She passed away this past May. My SIL said I should have it when we cleared out her room at assisted living. Reminds me of her every time I use it.

Lochkelly, condolences on the very recent loss of your mother. 🌹 It's lovely that you can conjure up a scent that remind you very much of her..

I always liked the smell of my Dad's Old Spice aftershave. I am allergic to almost all perfumes...even scented laundry soaps. :(

I remember my best friend in high school and I would wear English Leather. Wonder what the teachers thought...haha!

But I am able to use the Bath and Body Works "Moonlight Path" scented lotion without getting hives. So at least I can use something!

lol ...i love my hubbys , Fahrenheit.... I often wear it ...

I totally enjoy the smell of a nice scented gentleman. Unfortunately my man doesn’t care too much for all of that but he does wear Old spice body wash and after shave. Trying to get him to deviate from that habitual routine is pointless, but I don’t mind Old Spice. 😎

Do you wear perfume, (as some are allergic to it),
what one do you wear, and what one do you like........

i wear a cheap patchouli oil , as an everyday one
special occasions , i have Ellie Saab , ( shine ) and Fragile by JPG........

I love patchouli! It seems my smell has changed. I've always had a sensitive nose, but smells bother me more.

I have a lovely bottle of La Vie Es Belle. (if that's the correct way to spell it) Rarely wear it. I save it for going out, and I don't go out.

Angel from CVS. I’ve gotten lots of compliments when wearing it. I don’t like flowery smells. This is subtle and seems to adapt to your own scent. Love it. Two tiny squirts on the wrists and I’m ready to go.

Clean Original by Clean Beauty. They stopped making the eau de toilette version I love several years ago, so I bought several bottles and store them in the fridge. It smells like a high end body wash with a hint of citrus. Strong perfume is a migraine trigger for me, so I spent a lot of time searching for something light. I've never had anyone ask what perfume I'm wearing. Mostly I get "you smell so good" and have had people ask what kind of shampoo I use.

I tested Clean Skin once in a store and liked it.

It's easy to overdo. I spray into the air, then walk through it. That way, it's not too strong, and I don't like to spray onto my skin/hair/clothing - even though one is supposed to spray on the wrists (I think).
I think one is supposed to spray on pulse points, but I never spray on my wrists because I don't like anything I touch to take up the lingering smell of my perfume.. cups, glasses, etc..or I hate to smell the perfume when I'm eating...:)
