When signing up for the forum, I had just been listening to it one of my favorite Neil Diamond songs, "Heartlight" (inspired by the movie, "E.T.")

I changed it up to StarSong, in homage to ND and to ET, who went back home somewhere among the stars.

Awesome :)

My favourite and saddest quote about Oy is by Roland when Oy dies.

“The body was far smaller than the heart it had held.”

My eyes still fill up when I read it.
Hard to believe you can love and mourn a fantasy character. Another one for me was Wolf in The Talisman, broke my heart when he died.

I chose “Been There” because I have traveled extensively. Probably to some places where others would not want to go, like perhaps Cleveland. Just kidding, although Cleveland probably isn’t on anyone’s bucket list. The city has had a bad rep since the 60’s when it was called “The Mistake On the Lake.” It has made a comeback, but is still a dangerous city. They have also cleaned up the lake since dumping sewage into it.
I grew up in Cleveland and spent 1/3 of my life there, and besides all the things they write about it in the news, I have seen another side to it. I attended Case Western Reserve, played with the Cleveland Women's Orchestra, and helped at the Children's Hospital. I also worked at the Cleveland Clinic. I even performed experiments at NASA. So I know a lot about the place. I always wondered why they gave it a bad rap. Some of my most memories were there.

I have observed there are quite a few threads that are recycled under a similar heading – I don’t mind at all. If I decide to post on any thread, I will - it doesn’t matter if that particular thread has previously had one life here. Re my username: I pinched it from a children’s novel series.

Out of the clear blue sky... well also I had a Holly tree in the garden as well... but coincidentally it also happens to be my real initials..

People on the forum are always surprised when they learn my name isn't really Holly.. and can't get their head around my real name...when they learn it...

..but when I first joined this forum, I was still a Moderator on another forum.. and so I wanted a name that was completely different to that one....

Mine is my first initial and the first three letters of my surname. I'm not sure why I went with that because I almost always use the name of a classic ocean liner. So I usually have one in my avatar instead. (Today it's the Empress of Ireland.)

Holly is a kin of Eleanor of Aquitaine.
lol what have I missed...?..I think the only thing we have in common is that we were both born in a castle.. :D

She was the most powerful woman in 12th century Europe... and she lived a long life for someone from that period, given that she was born in 1122... she lived until she was 82 years old...

Knight depicted by a full moon & darkness just didn't seem logical. The avatar & name seem more of a fit.

Up until I was 9 years old, I lived in NE Ohio and been to Cleveland many times. At one time, I was also a fan of the Indians and Browns and I remember going to games in the old stadium in the summer and in November to watch Browns’ games. It was very cold with the wind blowing in off the lake with snow squalls. I lived in Ohio’s snow belt. As a kid, I really enjoyed the snow. My cousins, 2 of them, graduated from Case.

After my mom and dad were killed, my grandparents became my legal Guardians and I was moved to SE Ohio in Guernsey County. We lived on a small farm (325 acres). My Gramps had a hand working for him and I was expected to work also. I started out doing only the easy chores, but as I got older, I was given more of the harder work to do. I enjoyed everyday helping Gramps and learning about working a farm. Gramps and I became best friends. My grandma worked in the house and also did a few easier things, collecting eggs and taking care to feed the horse we boarded for a neighbor. She was a great cook.

It was a good time, even though we didn’t get the amounts of snow we did up north. I did miss that part, but also adapted to my new home and school. I had a best school friend, a bike and my dog. What else did I need to be happy? I think my parents went to Blossom Music Center to hear a lot of music, but not sure if it was the Orchestra.

Random thought at the time of joining plus I love ducks and quite adept at speaking duck speak.
I'm a whizz saying 'Shut yer mouth' in duck speak

How did you choose your username?

A few years ago, I recall posting on a similar thread, under the username, ‘Old Dame’ —(A mantle inspired by the endearing “Golden Pond Scene—My Knight In Shining Armor”).

A couple years have passed since my last post. Yet, although inactive; I enjoy waking with a morning cup of tea, and a peaceful scroll (stroll) through layers of resonating topics and perspectives SF members deliciously pen. I find this forum, a warm and inspiring place to ‘jumpstart’ the day, before the bleak cold dive into national and international news.

Finally yet importantly, is use of my name…It feels strange being stripped of my former mask. Yet, as I privately conveyed to @Matrix — framed in fresh circumstances; I’ve garnered opportunity to repose with intent, with who I am.
