PM's With Innuendo, How Would You React?

Not here on this forum, want to make that crystal clear right from the start.

How would you react to getting a pm of while not quite porno smut but still over the line. I do know the person from the chit chat end of the forum and he had sent one pm prior but that was not over the line at all.

Would you report it? I would not, pm's after all are supposed to be private.

Nip it in the bud.........if you are offended report it to the forum administrators.

And be sure to.block the person from sending anymore PM's, put him on ignore if they have that feature.

It happened to me, I responded firmly that such was not acceptable, and blocked them from sending further pm.

I agree with all of the above. Weird trolls are everywhere these days. Maybe you could have gotten him banned if you had reported him?
PM's are private, BUT you don't have to take being harassed.

First, I would send the person a PM asking him to not send me any more PM's. If that didn't work, I would block him from any future messages.

Since you say it was not really porno smut but still over the line, that might be enough. If it was really porn, I'd report it to the administrator.

I'd make it clear that I wanted him to stop sending me PMs like that, or PMs at all for that matter. If it continued, I would hit the report button, because chances are if he's talking like that to you, he's doing it to other women also. Then I would use the ignore feature and block him from sending me any PMs.

I would make it clear I do not like it and don't want it, if he/she does it again I would give them another warning, strike three and I will block them. As to reporting, only if they are talking about doing something violent like terrorism or killing or raping etc etc

Never mind about PM’s being ‘private’ and ‘warnings’ !! I would block the sender and report them, no site needs this type of thing and if it’s not reported it will continue to upset other members with admin unaware of what’s going on

I had that problem and had to nip it in the bud! He was sending them to other gals too. I don't know if he still is or not. He now hangs out on a forum I seldom even look at.

I did not report it as it is a senior's forum and this man is a known flirt so I feared it might be thought that I led him on. Anyway, I am a big girl so I will leave the reporting to others need they feel a need. I think mods have enough to do.

But I did pm him back and tell him off.....he replied with an apology and said the pm was meant for someone else (rolling my eyes)

The fact that it's a senior forum doesn't matter, imo, and I don't understand the logic that 'people' might think you led him on (unless they noticed interaction between you two).
I don't think it's a good idea to get into a 'back & forth' with him. Also, obviously you didn't block him which is why he sent you another pm.

Agree. It happened to me. I handled it. No hard feelings resulted.

I wouldn't even think of reporting someone, unless it continued to happen repeatedly. Just delete and ignore (not the person, the message). I guess I'm not a very easily offended person.

Totally agree. I've had to deal with the same kind of behaviour on other forums from quite a few guys ove the years , and in every case they were sending similar to other female posters.. . They start off being friendly and quite quickly they get a bit risqué...so that's the time to make it clear you're not interested before it leads into something much more offensive , and then block them if they don't respect your wishes !
