Posting Style & Etiquette

You'd think as a writer I'd be up on all that grammar stuff.

Fact is, all I do is look at a sentence and go by feel - if it sounds right, do it.

I leave the rest up to my editors. That's what they get paid for.

P.S. (Oops - shouldn't use contractions.)

P.P.S. (ARGH - did it again!)

'paid......for'??!!!

(I luz you, Fill)

"That is which they are paid for"

"For it is that for which they are paid"

"That is what they are paid for"

"I pay them for that"

"For it is that action that I pay them"

Take yer pick. :p

I like all those ones, there;
"For it is that for which they are paid"

"That is what they are paid for"

"I pay them for that"

"For it is that action that I pay them"

Abbreviations used and I don't know what they mean. Feel like I need a texting dictionary.

I did a poster on that once

I'm pretty laid back re misspellings and grammar, as long as I can understand what the writer is saying. Like many others, I hate long unending posts without breaks. I refuse to read ''texting abbreviations'' or the words where they go ''AmErIcA". I haven't seen any of that here, but have seen it sometimes in other article comments.

Other than that, anything that doesn't set my hair on fire is okay. But a little bit of controversy is always interesting. :)

Yep, to every word of that.

I usually only open threads if the subject interests me, and I feel I can add something to the conversation or learn something from it. If there's so much heat that my hair feels warmish, there are plenty of others to look into. :eek:nthego:

This is great advice that I need to keep in mind cause I already stepped into a heated argument.:shark:

But doesn't it feel refreshing when you step OUT of it? :D

Sort of like when you stop banging your head against the wall ...

Ummmm... :magnify: lets see.

:crying:Second thought. YES! Like when you stop banging your head against the wall. Then sit back and wonder, why’d I do that?

I don't respond to people who use 'Text speak' in posts (on any forum). If they can't be bothered to attempt proper spelling, then I can't be bothered replying.
