Question For All New or Close to New Vehicle Owners

I have a 2018 Titan truck and it has on the drivers side a kill button for the passenger side window. Why in the world is that there? What purpose does it serve? Does anyone else have this feature in their vehicle?

That's not really a "new" feature on cars. Our 2006 Impala has a button on the drivers armrest that "locks" all the buttons for the passenger and rear seat windows, and only allows them to be raised/lowered by the driver. I'm sure that feature is for "safety" reasons if there are kids or pets in the car.

My 2020 Kia Soul has all the goodies and safety features on it. The one feature I’d like to throw out the window it’s the engine stops when I stop. There is a button to turn it off, but I have to remember to do it every time I shut the car off.
Agreed, it’s a PITA.

As a representative of the canine community, I would like to express my opinion on this. My constituency feels that this lock feature is a serious violation of our rights. It is a part of our quality of life to be able to open the window and stick our nose out, enjoying all the interesting smells. Humans simply cannot relate to this, as they are smell-impaired. Our sense of smell is 100 times greater than theirs. So they don't know what they are missing.

I am lobbying the ASPCA to get a bill introduced to ban this unfortunate invention, which benefits the automobile manufacturers and no one else.
