What happens when I piddle around with stuff rather than engaging in housework and laundry ...
Buffalo Horn, Clip Point Barlow, Classic produced by A. Wright & Son Sheffield England.
Interestingly, the '& Son' is not a part of the tang stamp. Hmmm ... age ??
Purchased almost 20yrs ago from a mom & pop knife shop in Maryland U.S.A.
After decades, they were retiring and clearing all inventory. This just one of various I purchased.
Giving it some luvs on a Wednesday afternoon ... while piddling around with stuff.
... and some May flowers here around the sanctuary on the corner of Walk 'n Don't Walk ...
I FOUND IT !!! I have tried for over 10yrs to find and obtain a T.W. Ablett pocket knife.
Trevor Ablett was one of the last old school 'Little Mesters' left in Sheffield England.
Saddly Mr. Ablett passed away in 2015 at the age of only 73.
He handmade each knife completely from scratch by himself.
Each knife was sold to be used. A workman's tool. Attractive and modestly priced.
Finding an Ablett knife today is like finding hen's teeth. Very rare and gone in a flash.
I was emailing with someone in Half Moon Bay California and they offered me an Ablett !!!
Not only that but offered it at a steal of a price. Made my day.
This one in Buffalo Horn, Brass and Carbon Steel should be here by FedEx, Thursday.
Blades are Lamb Foot main and Pen secondary.
Not my pictures but ones shared from Half Moon Bay.
