at the garden centre there's a Miniature railway, which yesterday was closed t the public so I could take pictures without any children being there...

After I left the Garden centre, I went to our local Nature reserve.. which is a wild marshy place where lots of varieties of birds, nest.... and is popular with walkers, and Bird watchers, lots of Bird Hides there as well... wooded walks and a canal as well as the resrvoir add to the joy for most outdoor people a dn is somewhere i go often.. have done for decades...

To get to it I have to leave my car , and walk across a Railway line.. which is very busy with trains, and in fact I'd just crossed the railway by 20 seconds when a fast train came hurtling past...

Just over the railways line is the canal.. with the narrowboats moored up... there's many more in summer... I stood on the small bridge to take these photos of both sides of the canal

Lousy quality, but he flew away. I can't feed the birds. Then you attract mice. LOL he's eating my garden cress seeds.

Today's pictures. these were literally taken on the spur of the moment.. the day started off very overcast... but warm.. and I went into town.. did what I had to do, and on the way back to the town centre car park, I have to walk through our local small park... which sits next to the car park, and the sun had come out mid-afternoon....

I noticed that the daffodils were starting to die back, so this is probably the last daffodil pictures for 2026..

Apparently, that's a Jeep smashed up against the building.

A person who was in their Jeep when a semitrailer crushed the vehicle against a gas station in Littleton is in serious but stable condition, according to officials.

The driver of the semitrailer was treated for minor conditions and declined to be taken to a hospital.

The driver of the CDS Transport semitrailer said his brakes failed while he was driving south on Santa Fe Drive. After exiting onto Belleview Avenue, he crossed a median and crashed into the Quick Trip at 2338 W. Belleview Ave. in Littleton.

The QuikTrip gas station is on the lower left. Apparently, the truck driver went down the highway 85 off ramp where his brakes failed. He couldn't make the turn onto Belview, and he crossed the median and into the QuikTrip. I guess the Jeep was just at the wrong place at the wrong time. :oops:

Wow that jeep owner’s guardian angel was on duty if he ain’t *dead*. Horrifying!
