When my kids were little I ran my own childcare facility for some years, taking in kids through to kindergarten age. Lots of kids, lots of different personalities.
I learned that a child starts showing their various traits from a very early age, and because of that personal experience, I respectfully disagree.
While most of the kids would happily perform the helpful tasks shown in that video, there were a small percentage who would diverge from the helpfulness in some way. Using the video as an example, they might snatch an item from another child and hand it to the adult, not to be helpful but to deprive the other child of the experience or to gain attention.
Some kids just weren’t interested in sharing, doing group activities, or cooperating. They were just too self focused to bother with anyone else. And yes, young children tend be self-focused, learning to reach outside themselves as they grew. But it was obvious that the random few had no interest in helping anyone but themselves.
