Yesterday the manager, nor the maintenance man showed up here. I called the office and left a message because you never call and actually talk to a person. It is frustrating. I lost my patience finally and called the office of the aging and just said, "I need help!" After I explained everything that was going on here, she said she had to talk to some others and would get back to me or an outreach worker would call me. Nope. I called back around 3 and she said she was still working on it. Hoping I hear something today.
In the meantime, my old manager, the one who is helping us, sent me a fakebook request so I can talk to her. She wanted my copies of the papers about the elevator. All I want is someone to do our errands for us. Instacart does not come inside our building. I have to meet them at the back door by the ramp. So my aide is supposed to work today and if so maybe I can schedule the delivery to take place at that time. I will see. Garbage, laundry and mail are the other things I need help with. You would think they would make sure we had help in this situation.
My friend has Parkinson and her doctor just told her she is not to walk down stairs. Even when someone is helping her because you lose control of your legs in an instant with no warning. It has been happening to her but luckily she was home every time. This is a very stressful time for her.
Mysteriously, the elevator started working yesterday............nobody came here to work on that I saw. It has a notice on it that if it works and you use it, that you could get stuck on it. The thought of that scares me and I don't dare take the chance. I am also afraid to take it downstairs and not be able to get back up. I really doubt I can walk up the stairs. Unlike most of the others, it is not a breathing issue with me. I am sure I would have no trouble with breathing but it is definitely a knee and leg issue. My legs feel heavy due to Lymphedema and my knees are tight and swollen most of the time.
On a good note, Committed Care called and asked me about my aide. I told her that the aide said she can only work two hours a week and not the 15 that I am supposed to have. I would like at least six. Maybe 3 hours every other day or something like that. Not this aide. They are going to find another aide so I would have two. Once they do that I will cancel the first one. If she doesn't really need or want the job, give the hours to someone who does.
Sorry if I sound like a whiner, but sometimes in this earthly life you have to whine to get things done. Have a great day!
