Reflections of My Life

I just signed up for the Walmart delivery. I could not get the discount for people with SNAP because the company that does that for Walmart refused to accept my card. They said it was too old and it has to have a date within the year on it. Our cards here do not have the year on it. In fact, some people do not even have their picture on it. It would have been half off their subscription rate but what the heck, I got it anyway. My delivery should be here between noon and one. I think they will bring it upstairs to my apartment door. Will see. If they do, I will change my tip from 10% to 15%.

I feel fortunate after reading everyone's troubles with falling asleep that I don't have that problem. As soon as I turn off my television I am asleep. I have always been like that. There are three things I think help me to remain this way is that I do not take any medications, nor do I take naps during the day and I never eat anything after 6 PM. Sonny, my BF rarely gets any sleep at all and he does all three of those things. He does sleep well during the day taking naps that sometimes last for 3 hours or more. But he eats bad, lots of cereals, sugary things and grains too.

The food truck delivery came today. Everybody is coming to my door offering me food. I guess they got a lot of frozen and fresh produce. Sounds like they got too much. I don't get it because I can't eat the kind of food the government gives away. I got my own food delivery today from Walmart. Now that was a good delivery with lots of healthy food! I love the Walmart delivery guy..........he brings my bags inside my apartment and puts them on my counter!

Now I am just waiting for my water delivery. Then I will clean the bunny cage. You should see Rabbit when he heard me putting away the groceries! He knew I ordered more food for him. So even though he doesn't usually get any food at that time, I gave him some parsley and a berry. He was a happy camper and now he is snoozing within eyesight of me. Just in case.......

When I think about all the chores I used to do in one day I get tired thinking about it. Now I can only do one big chore and maybe a couple smaller ones in one day. And I do not have anything really wrong with me except my osteoarthritis in my knees and Lymphedema in my legs and feet. Unless that is really something wrong and I don't think of it as a disease so much. Just a condition that I can live with.

I have tried to make the hard chores easier to do. Like cleaning Rabbit's cage. I used to have to pull it from the bedroom to the bathroom and clean it in there. Now I clean it in the bedroom and sit on the edge of the bed to do it. Way easier! Sweeping up the hay is the hardest part. I have plastic carpet protector pads under the cage so the hay is on that and sweeps up easily. Sweeping tires my arms and shoulders out. I have a lightweight broom that is short with a dust pan on the same kind of handle. A 10 minute job, but tires me out and I have to sit down after doing it.

I vacuumed the whole apartment a few days ago. My back and shoulders hurt still! Most of the time I only vacuum the living room area (I have each part of my studio apartment divided up into rooms, such as bedroom, living room and office) and office area. Then on a heavy cleaning day, I vacuum the bedroom moving Rabbit's cage and vacuuming under the protector pads plus vacuuming my furniture real good (underneath the bottom frames as well as deep beneath the cushions). It takes me........maybe an hour because I take sit down breaks while doing it. Whew, I got tired just writing about it...........

I get to this point where I look around, and things just look like it is time to do some cleaning. How deep a cleaning is the next decision. Usually it has about 50 x 50. I clean about half way, and then leave the stuff I would have to move and take down and fix up, and just mess with. So I leave that stuff. It will take me about an hour to do basic cleaning/vacuuming. Then I am pooped! I can rest for the whole day after that. We do get our exercise keeping our homes clean. :)

We do! When someone says, "how did you exercise today?" I say, "I cleaned my house."

I am sitting here resting at the moment. My supper is being heated in the Hot Logic and is ready when I am. I had a nice walk to and from the hair salon earlier. Beautiful sunny day and still is quite sunny and warm. I just took the walk out to the dumpster and it was still nice. Listening to Judy Collins' greatest hits CDs. When it finishes I guess I will eat. Leftover pork shoulder roast with a taco type of seasoning. It is really good.

Your place looks so neat and homey. I like your mini-lights. I'm always thinking I might get some, but then I forget.

Thank you! I have those same type of lights on my kitchen cupboards too. Maybe you can see them in this photo I took yesterday. Well, not too good but they are along the bottom of the vases on top of the cupboard.

We play our rules Poker of many different games 3 night a week at our circle Poker Table.
Things change, the Family that wants to talk in different places is mostly normal. It's
how stuff happens. It's the meet and greats, Zoos, Holidays, marriages, deaths, it's all
there and that's what it's all about.

I am making another batch of bone broth today. Cooking the whole chicken in the Instant Pot (40 minutes on manual). Then will remove all the meat and put that in the fridge for other meals. Return the bones, skin and other stuff to the pot and cover with water and some apple cider vinegar. Will add a cut up onion, carrot chunks and celery slices along with lots of garlic. Then cook for an hour or so in the IP. After it is done and cooled I will strain it and store in Ball canning jars in the fridge. A cup a day is good for whatever ails you.

While that is cooking, I am making homemade keto coleslaw. It is the best coleslaw I have ever had and now I can't eat any other kind. Eating this way does not make me feel deprived, but fat fueled and energized. It is so good for whatever ails you.

I finished watching LA Law and now am not looking for a new show to binge watch as of yet. When I do, it might be Melrose Place since I never watched it in my past. I got a new book, a workbook called, The New English Workbook For Adults. Thought it might be fun to brush up on my writing skills.

I think I worked too long in the kitchen yesterday. I woke up this morning with sore shoulders and arms. Reaching up into the cupboard to get the jars out probably did that. Something so simple! How can that be? I used to haul huge muck buckets out of horse stalls with no problems. Now writing this, I remember 2 Krazy Ketos (YouTube channel) saying you need to lift heavy things even if it is just household items. I have not been trying that because I do not want my shoulder or arms to hurt.

Last night I thought I would start watching that old show, Melrose Place. Nope, not my cup of tea. I could not even get through the first few minutes. So I watched YouTube videos instead. I needed to catch up on some of my channels as I hadn't been watching as much as I used to.

Rabbit and I had a quiet day. Right now he is giving me the eye because he wants me to shut my computer off and come sit in the recliner and watch television. That is our routine. Oh yeah, first I give him some berries, some carrot slices, a chew stick, fresh hay and bury the berries in the hay for him to forage and a bit of natural salad (dried flowers and other things sold for bunnies and he loves it). Animals do not appreciate you getting off schedule. Of course, he doesn't know about the time change............
