@RadishRose Strange that you posted that picture of Dresden on my deceased mother's birthday. She lived through that and never should have. Because we all had to suffer it. I recognized the picture before I read the caption.

Oh no worries. I've dealt with this since I was a child. You didn't do anything. And yes, that picture sure tells a story. The horrors of war. But that horror should never have been mine to bear. And that is on my mother.

The photo is not vintage, but according to the caption (servants' stairs, 18th century) the stairs are. As afraid as I am going down normal stairs, I think I would just sit on my behind and scoot down the stairs one at a time!
