I'm 60 and recently retired. I'm old enough to qualify for (and take advantage of) senior discounts. But I am still in good health mentally (though some would disagree!
) And physically. My mother is 91. Her mind is still sharp, but she is physically feeble. She is elderly. We are both "seniors." There has to be a distinction. Since "tweens" has already been claimed by adolescents, I propose the term "semi-seniors" for myself and others of us who are old enough for senior discounts but not "elderly." Who is with me?
