Yes, dear, I know that! What's your point? You defended the country you were obligated to defend? Congrats! We weren't obligated to defend anyone against Germany, but we did. Don't attempt to teach me US history!

I was on another forum that consistently loved to trash the great USA, ‘twas a bad look in my opinion.

I'll speak for myself: I am a retired vet. Third generation American, third generation to serve my country during time of war. Wars not fought on my land. My son is a disabled Iraq War Vet. Fourth generation American, fourth generation to serve our country. Yes, I'm passionate and I don't care what anyone calls me or says about it. I do care, though, when people don't have the courage to tell me directly! That is not how I was raised and it not something I expect from my generation!

Relax......I too am a retired Vet. That isn't a license start ranting and raving and take all comments personally.
Actually I was talking about our Canadian 'friend'. Those types are easy to spot. Trash talk about the country that keeps them safe. Must be nice.
Keep it at a debate level, otherwise people stop listening and your anger overshadows the point you are trying to make.
And there is nothing 'behind the back' going on here...just trying to act civil.
Don't raise your voice, improve your argument...

It has completely collapsed. I think it represents how and why the US now ranks 131st out of 163 nations ranked by the The Institute for Economics and Peace. When we can't have conversations about civics (not politics) we have lost the ability to cooperate with each other. Our culture becomes toxic. The main reason the US is so unpeaceful is because we are extremely divided which has made the violent tendencies flourish. "According to the study, the United States recorded the fourth-largest overall increase in its homicide rate, which is "now above six per 100,000 people and more than six times higher than most Western European countries."

OK. You made a point that I thought was a response to one of my posts.

I understood you were saying that Australians soldiers entered Britain's wars of the last century because of some obligation and you are partially correct. As a former British colony we saw ourselves as coming to the aid of family. My grandfather volunteered for the Boer War and WW II and his sons all volunteers for WW II. Half of them did not return. That is how it was then.

I might add that Australia has joined the US in numerous wars since then - Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan come to mind - and we had no obligation to do that, but that is exactly what did happen. Nobody won any of those wars.

If I have been beating around the bush, allow me to clarify. You may believe that US saved Britain twice but that is arguable because the US was not the only country to come to the aid of the British. IMO the US entered both world wars for the national interest of the American people. That is why every nation goes to war, especially wars fought away from the home front.

No, given who you are I am sure name calling is the least of what you have had to face in life.

However personal attacks here do bother some, so we try to refrain from them. I know some things were said about you that should not have been. I have found responding to that kind of thing never helps...

Oh, As to things about our country, I for one always appreciate suggestions and constructive criticism from people who are not US citizens. Often brings interesting and useful insights. We can decide how many grains of salt we want to take the comments with, we are the only ones with a US vote. I hope all our Canadians, Brits, Aussies, etc. keep doing it.

Our government has become toxic.
In governments push for 'a different society', Americans are faced with standing up for freedom, or succumb to the suppression of those freedoms, along with the open boarder policies of the recent administration, allowing criminals to wander the country unchecked.
And those numbers? Never believe CBS or the institute for economics and peace. Both have political agendas that are anti-American.

Is it you "believe" that CBS is anti-American, or do you have proof or a preponderance of evidence? I googled it and you are right "Affiliated with the labor movement the EPI is usually described as presenting a left-leaning and pro-union viewpoint on public policy issues." To me that has significant meaning. Nations are more peaceful when the masses have some say in how they work and survive.

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land;

You claimed before you were some type of Inspector for the Treasury dept., yet you spout off Constitutional nonsense!!

Another incorrect legal fact. Common law is another term for Court/Judge made law. You know absolutely nothing about law based on your posts, you are just spouting off to spout off. Go ahead and ramble on I will not be wasting anymore time on you.
