I think so, but it will only happen when and if the voters do something about it.Should Washington's elderly leaders hand over power to a younger generation?
Members of Congress have served longer then any SC Justice and they do not have life Tenure!IMHO these regulations should be determined by a vote of the citizens not by a rule of law or even a petition of younger vs. "elderly" citizens. There is knowledge then there is experience. Also the wealth should be spread if term limits are imposed on Federal government employees then all Federal employees should have to abide by term limits. Case in point "The Justices of the Supreme Court".

I'm fully in favor of both Term Limits, And Age Limits. It seems that the longer these politicians remain in office, the more they become little more than "tools" for the special interests. With regard to Age. I'm convinced that both our present, and previous POTUS are showing age related mental issues.
I think there should be a different set of rules for those holding elected office, and those with lifetime appointments, such as the SC.
The same can be said for Sen Charles Grassley, they are the same age. Here's a fine example of why there should be age limits on our politicians...

It was not necessarily a correction, just an observation.I appreciate your reply and correction however I was just considering all federal employees except DOJ law enforcement agents.
The justices of the Supreme Court are tasked with interpreting and applying the law in the way the legislators who enacted it intended. What you propose might be construed as turning the SC justices into vote seeking politicians. Not what the drafters of the Constitution intended. Why not let the voters select the SC justices ? Vote for them on their merit & decisions ? I'm not really a fan of lifetime appointments .
Again, in the mind of a particular voter if the justice is doing a good job .... vote to return them. If not vote for a replacement .
The drafters were not a legislative body. The justices of the Supreme Court are tasked with interpreting and applying the law in the way the legislators who enacted it intended. So we should scrap the Constitution and start over? The drafters were not a legislative body.
No!So we should scrap the Constitution and start over?
On that we can agree! (-8
There's absolutely nothing wrong with our Constitution. The only problem seems to be that there are no enforcement mechanisms in place when violations occur in the Executive Branch. Laws can be ruled unConstitutional, but when a president violates the Constitution, the only enforcement mechanism seems to be impeachment, and that's obviously insufficient. So we should scrap the Constitution and start over?
