In a way, the most amazing thing about the article in today's paper about this is the placement of the article. At least 63 people killed in a suicide bombing at a wedding two days ago? The article is on page 10!
From reading it, I am completely bewildered about the "why" behind it. Though I guess that's true for all terrorist activities. There is no theory or explanation of what led up to it, what the terrorist was trying to accomplish (aside from killing and wounding as many people as possible), or any other logic to it. There is some discussion of the Sunni "Islamic State" terrorist group being behind it, though the Taliban denies being involved ... who knows? I know there is a long-standing history of hatred in that part of the world between various Muslim sects. So is this just another example of religion rearing its ugly head once again?
