Someone here mentioned senior living apartments. So I though I look around in my area, even though I have no real interest , other than being curious about cost.

Since I looked I have been bomb-barded with adverts in my email ....... so damn aggravating when we cannot even seek product/service information, without constant advertising / sales pitches .

BTW I found for a one bedroom studio approx , 890 sq/ft... $875 ..... $1,175 p/month ..... up to two bedroom 1600 sq/ft ......... [max i found] $6,000.00 p/month depending on needs / desires .

If I had to even half of $900 a month = $450 it would bust me. We happen to live on our farm that is paid off. very lucky and very grateful for that.

The only way to stop it is to clear cookies after every session. Tedious but otherwise you're carrying loads of cookies around with you.
 
I can understand the frustration of getting all those ads. I'm disabled and checked out some slip on shoes. There are shoe ads all over every screen on my computer. There is no Constitutional Right for someone to besiege you with intrusive ads. It's total overkill with the in your face, "can't get away from it" advertising. Some say advertising pays for TV, radio programing as a free service. But we are paying for that service with our time and attention. And we are losing the "free" part with more and more ads, even promos during the program, in the lower right screen. I'm tired of getting ads stuffed down my throat. (putting away the soap box).

Please keep your soapbox handy .... if enough people in government or .... whomever ..... read this type of rant ..... they will do something about it?

Yeah I know , pie-in-the-sky thinking but ...... who knows ?
 
I have always hated advertising, hate it now and will go to my grave hating it. Can't stand the stupid stuff that treats mature adults like they were 3 year old babies. The more they advertise, the less I buy. Curses on 'em!
 
I used to be very annoyed about ads popping up everywhere but nowadays I just ignore them and get on with whatever I am doing on my laptop.

Life is too short to get upset about things that you can't control.
 
When I go on a site and it has on the screen - This site uses cookies - I click on that message and only allow the necessary cookies, disabling all others.
Seems to work for me.
