Spring is Here & Easter is Coming!

I was in the local Wegman’s the other day and was admiring the display of spring flowers which included a big container of pussy willows.

I remember when we were kids we collected pussy willows, forsythia branches, bunches of daffodils, etc… for our mother and grandmother…now we buy them in the store…kind of sad.

Normally, I'd have trouble accepting that spring is here in the beginning of March, but from Sunday to Wednesday we are supposed to have temps in the 70s. Yaaaay! :D I come alive again in spring. I love seeing the trees blooming. Trees on our street get pink (and some white) blooms before the leaves turn green.

My Dad's birthday was in mid-April & I remember having snow then right after warm temps. You don't know what your going to get in Ohio, LOL. Right now we've had rain since the weekend. I'm guesstimating 4" since we didn't get our rain gauge out & up until the other day. Right now it's sunny & 68F with no more rain today.

The first day of spring varies ... it's March 1st according to the meteorological calendar & March 20th astronomically.

I've seen the signs in the past few weeks. Right at the tail end of the very cold temps, the robins showed up in the back yard followed by the chipmunks & squirrels. The other day my crocus bulbs sprouted up & today they bloomed. The fluffy snow from overnight was gone by mid-morning. I know we'll have some more cold days, but the better temperatures are coming. So is Easter!

I had a honey bee on my grocery sack. I had to get him off there but I felt bad cuz he wouldn't go willingly and I didn't want him in the house.
