Luvya, Mark .. but not pineapple on pizza.
The pizza's you described sound YUMMY!My oldest was stationed (USMC) in Hawaii for 3 years during the mid '80s. When he came home on leave he talked about pineapple on pizza and he did order one for us to try. It was ok, but not my idea of a pizza.
For this ol half Italian from Chicago, a pizza is relatively thin crust, with globs of ITALIAN sausage on it, and maybe mushrooms, green peppers or onions. In the '50s, every neighborhood had a pizzeria and they were all a bit different, but all pretty darn good. BTW, I never even heard of deep dish pizza until the late '60s, and never heard of pepperoni at all until the '70s.
When I moved to Louisville (Ky) in '67 and ordered a sausage pizza, it came with ground up breakfast sausage! Yuck!
Diva, I've had Shrimp Scampi Pizza at California Pizza Kitchen. It is delicious!I've heard of pineapple on pizza before, but never had it. I used to like black olives but don't even like those anymore. I order plain pizza or mushroom pizza on the rare occasions when I eat at a pizza parlor. I mostly make my own quick, easy pizzas at home using naan bread as the "crust". Sometimes plain, sometimes with tiny pieces of broccoli. I guess the most unusual pizza I've had was shrimp pizza. A Hispanic friend at work told us about it. He'd buy canned shrimp and take it to our pizza guy who would make it for us. It was okay but not a favorite.
@chic My youngest grandson (age 19) loves BBQ chicken pizza.
Bretrick, can't you get pizza without those toppings to begin with, so you don't have to pick them off?
In Australia pizza can come with prawns on top. It sells as seafood pizza.I've heard of pineapple on pizza before, but never had it. I used to like black olives but don't even like those anymore. I can do pineapple if it's combined with either kind of bacon or ham.Pineapple with Canadian bacon is my favorite![]()
