Surely Pineapple is great on Pizza?

I always thought ground meat on pizza was terrible, and onions, I've never liked onions on pizza.

Pineapple with chicken pizza was good, but not pineapple and peperoni.

I've heard of pineapple on pizza before, but never had it. I used to like black olives but don't even like those anymore. I order plain pizza or mushroom pizza on the rare occasions when I eat at a pizza parlor. I mostly make my own quick, easy pizzas at home using naan bread as the "crust". Sometimes plain, sometimes with tiny pieces of broccoli. I guess the most unusual pizza I've had was shrimp pizza. A Hispanic friend at work told us about it. He'd buy canned shrimp and take it to our pizza guy who would make it for us. It was okay but not a favorite.

Bretrick, can't you get pizza without those toppings to begin with, so you don't have to pick them off?

My oldest was stationed (USMC) in Hawaii for 3 years during the mid '80s. When he came home on leave he talked about pineapple on pizza and he did order one for us to try. It was ok, but not my idea of a pizza.

For this ol half Italian from Chicago, a pizza is relatively thin crust, with globs of ITALIAN sausage on it, and maybe mushrooms, green peppers or onions. In the '50s, every neighborhood had a pizzeria and they were all a bit different, but all pretty darn good. BTW, I never even heard of deep dish pizza until the late '60s, and never heard of pepperoni at all until the '70s.

When I moved to Louisville (Ky) in '67 and ordered a sausage pizza, it came with ground up breakfast sausage! Yuck!

I love pineapple and ham on pizza. I live in Hawaii, so I guess I should, except that one summer I worked at Dole Cannery trimming pineapple and when I got on the bus, that's what I smelled like. The guys at the cannery however, job was to watch the cans go by. How did they get such a cushy job? We trimmers sat around a long table while the pineapples of all sizes rolled by. Once in a while my knife would get loose and careen into the place in the wall where the pineapples zoomed out of, so we got a break waiting for the knife to get retrieved. :giggle:

In Australia pizza can come with prawns on top. It sells as seafood pizza.

Pineapple is ok if someone is buying. Me, it's Sausage Pepperoni.
Sauerkraut is ok if someone is buying. Like both thin and thick crust.
Deep Pan style Spaghetti sausage pizza too. Stopped at Rush St. Chicago
for deep pan pizza once.
