I am a "chronic user," and I only get sleepy. The whole "pot psychosis" excuse is unadulterated bullshit.
Marijuana psychosis, also known as cannabis-induced psychosis, is a condition that can occur in some people who use marijuana. Basically, it's a temporary state of psychosis that is brought on by the use of marijuana.
Psychosis is a serious mental condition that involves a loss of touch with reality. Symptoms can include hallucinations, delusions, disordered thinking, and difficulty understanding what is real and what isn't. In cases of marijuana psychosis, these symptoms are thought to be caused by the effects of marijuana on the brain.
It's important to note that marijuana psychosis is relatively rare, and it's usually only seen in people who use marijuana heavily or who have a pre-existing mental health condition like schizophrenia. But for those who do experience it, it can be really scary and distressing, and it's important to seek professional help.
My partner, Misa's younger brother, 56, has had a psychotic breakdown recently. He was heavy into drinking, pot, mushrooms, and other drugs. He is now hallucinating scenarios of paranoia regularly. Misa has been studying cannabis psychosis, and finds many similarities with her brother and people who have sought help. It is not BS.
I use pot everyday and have on and off for 55 years. Some pot has left me pretty dysfunctional, and I have done some outrageous stuff will real high in the distant past. Who knows for sure. In this case she could just be using pot as an excuse for being very troubled. Maybe not. The strength of pot is like more than twice what it once was, as growers improve on their growing techniques. Now days it is a good idea to talk with a pot doctor before you use it for medical reasons. But, recreational pot is legal in a lot of states, and people are driving cars, and going to work blasted. I think a certain respect is due while using it.
