Suspenders!

Never have and 99% chance, never will. To me (my opinion), suspenders make a guy look too old. It's like when I see a guy wearing a bow tie instead of a regular tie. As little boys, many of us may have wore a bow tie, but as adult men...……..I sure wouldn't.
Well classicRockr. I respectfully disagree.

I think that suspenders are fine on trousers that were made for them but I think that they look odd on trousers that were made with loops for a belt.

I agree they look better on those pants, but I'm not going to go shopping for special pants.....

Not talking about a Formal with a with a large, even small, bow tie, just a regular bow tie. Would any Executive wear a regular bow tie to his office. Seriously doubt that. Now, do young guys where a Formal bow tie to their Senior Prom...…….definitely.

I remember the old James Bond movies where Shawn Connery would wear a Formal bow tie and even the newer James Bond movies where it's worn also.

We have a Weatherman on a local tv station here that wears a bow tie and it makes him look like the Pee wee Herman character.

It's part of the uniform for my logger buds, but I've never felt comfy in 'em

In summer I'm shirtless anyway, so they'd prolly rub me raw

I always liked belts instead of suspenders, probably because neither my father, brother or husband ever wore them. They can look good on some guys like the fashion models in magazines, but I'm not overly impressed with outward appearances, whatever makes that person feel comfortable is that they should wear, IMO.

Yes you make a good point. Generally speaking regular ties do look nicer on most men.
My father never wore a bow tie or suspenders , nor does my husband.
I’m all for men being comfortable in whatever they like being in. Suspenders wouldn’t suite my husband in the least.
Lately however he needed to get new belts since his pants were sliding down his behind. While this is in style for young kids, it’s not an attractive look. I wondered what other men did in these instances and now I know. Lol

Yes, they serve a purpose now that I didn't require before. I used to see them as yet another sign of getting old but I no longer have to worry about the 'getting' part :(. So, yes, I use them. Don...

A late comer to this thread. I wear suspenders quite often, not always but still often. I have lost some pouch along my middle, a little weight all over and sometime I'm more comfortable with a pair of suspenders. I bought a grey suit the other day. I bought a matching pair of suspenders? I have about eleven pair. I usually wear them under a jacket or a vest.
