Sweatpants are now considered fashionable ... yay! Comfort and cool at last

I live in Arizona. 90% of my wardrobe is shorts and sweatpants. My footwear consists of tennis shoes and sandals. Too chilly for shorts, out come the sweatpants.

I sure don't need lessons on how to wear sweatpants. I just bend over, stick my feet in, pull them up around my waist
and they're ON. If it's cool enough I wear the sweat shirt that goes with it.
That's about all I wear around the house...shorts and/or sweats and either sandals or moccasins. I might also grocery shop in either outfit.

Many of the people I see are looking the same way.

Sorry guys, as long as this body permits, I 'm sticking with my skinny jeans. Floaty dresses for summer. I love girly clothes. I have a pink pair of Doc Martens which I adore. Go well with magenta jeans, and a black velvet embroidered top.

I feel like a slob in sweat pants and only wear them in the dead of winter under a full length coat while I'm shoveling snow. I love feminine clothes too, like Shalimar. I guess I'm one of those who enjoys looking like a girly girl.

I don't wear sweatpants often, but do like to wear leggings in the house. Also picked up a lot of 'harem pants' in Thailand which are really comfy but thin and not for warmth. When I go to the gym I wear tracksuit bottoms over my spandex capris and take them off when I get there.

Yup I'm with you Shali...sweat pants only in the house when I get home from work and not going out anywhere or anyone coming to visit..they are wonderfully comfortable to just slob around in, but absolutely no way would I be seen outdoors wearing them.

I'm a girly girl when it comes to clothing....although my secret inner self would love to just live on a plot in the middle of nowhere and not give a damn about what I wear...:D Until that happens it's girlie clothing for me..dresses and pretty sandals , shorts and Tees in the summer, and skinny jeans and knee high boots in the winter :D

Im with you on this, except I do love my Lululemon Capris....they are so lightweight and comfortable and vey flattering. I have skinny legs so skinny jeans look good on me...then a longer top to cover my tummy, lol.

I only were sweatpants in the house... and only in the winter.... Like Shalimar, I have discovered Skinny Jeans... or Jeggings.. and I love them..because I still have some pretty good legs... and They look really great with boots in the fall and winter. In the summer I wear shorts or sun dresses and skirts..

Yes.. I forgot about those.. I have several pair..

I'm in no way a slob or a snob, but I do like to be comfortable, and you can dress these new slim fitting sweat pants up or down - perfect for my relaxed and pared down lifestyle. I did the dress thing in the 90s, channeling Elaine Benis in her flowing frocks and docs, but life goes on -- I still have a nice body and look good in most things, so no need for the froohfrahs. And my bank account loves me for it.

I feel like I'm wearing my pajamas in sweatpants.. Love them on cold winter days when I stay in or when I'm feeling chilled and in the mood for vegetating. But I still feel undressed in them in public.

QS, I prefer body hugging clothes and my sweatpants fit nice and snug like yoga pants, no flopping around. But I know how you feel, when I wear a dress or slacks I feel like I'm in my nightgown or pj's. And I can't wear jeans anymore either, they just feel too stiff and inflexible. But hey, that's just me. That's why there are so many choices out there for all us unique individuals.

Go for it, Josiah, I'm sure you'll find something that strikes your fancy! :D
