Teacher forced to apologize for saying, "Good afternoon, girls"

I can see a point in the not too distant future where a nurse in a hospital asks a mother (who just gave birth) what the name of her child is.
And the mother replies, "HIM" or "HER" or better yet "IT". No names allowed anymore!

yes but apparently when the teacher said ''good afternoon girls'' one year 7 pupil stood up and proclaimed that not everyone wants to be called ''girls''.. not everyone identifies as girls... that's where the problem lay.. one individual in a class of girls..

Honestly you have no idea how out of hand this has got in the UK ...

Feels like clickbait, reading the headline. The press are always trying to get us riled up. Don't fall for it...

??? Were they objecting to the school being girls only? If someone in the class isn't a girl, or doesn't "identify" as one what are they doing there?

I know, I know, none of this makes much sense... Is it ok to call you, @hollydolly , a girl? Hope so...

in all seriousness..it has got out of hand where children are now dictating what pronoun to use when addressing them, and those in charge are being taken to task, some losing their jobs if they don't kowtow to this nonsense. There needs to be a law which states no child can change or be known as any other gender than the one they're born with until they're old enough as an adult ( 18) to make the choice to change their gender officially..
 
Regarding the video above, Ann Widdecombe is a a religious conservative politician who opposed the legality of abortion and LGBT rights. She supports blasphemy laws and wants to bring back the death penalty. So it's natural that she'd be totally outraged over something stupid like this.

I'm guessing that the teacher in question made some disparaging comments about wokeness or gender identity, which is why the students rebelled.

And it's a private school, so they can implement whatever conduct rules they want with regards to teacher behavior, as long as they don't violate the laws.
