Tell us what you got for Christmas gifts

A nice little family time was yesterday. Cajon fiest, little presents, big hugs, lotsa love.
Wish you could have been here with us all. Love was as thick as the delicious smell of food in
the air. Still, the grandchild stole the show. Family is everything.

Christmas is at a certain point where i do not need more stuff..... daughter bought me a sweater very nice but as i have many will make an effort to wear i suppose..
spouse agreed no gifts then went behind my back and bought items he likes to find unusual .........so found a coffee made mostly from mushrooms and you can tell ............tastes like dirt. did he buy one pkg? ....... oh no..........he buys 4 lbs of this comes in a 1 pound bag why buy 4 ......he also bought candy after I specifically asked "no more ".............. but was a "tradition" he had to........thankfully got grand kids to eat it....
i bought him gloves like he asked still sitting in pkg left without them even though it is cold ... whole exercise of holiday for each other was a big waste of money,
it was about kids and grand kids having fun not find place to store stuff.

Have you ever heard of giving family members fruit baskets for Christmas? I mean apples, bananas, and pears in a wicker bowl and wrapped in cellophane. Who does that?

Or a pair of very small Pyrex baking dishes?

Well it beats most years: a calendar. So I should be joyful at that anyway, I admit.

Not to dwell, but if I told you what I gave as gifts your eyeballs might roll back in your head.

Is there such a thing as Opposite Day Scrooge? :ROFLMAO:

But it isn't that important to me. I don't even think about it except for trying to use up the fruit before it goes bad. I hate wasting food. If not for the context of this thread I wouldn't even think about it.

Oh from your SON...that's different....
Yeah. He and his (what do you call somebody you've lived with for 13 years?) SO can be quirky.

No kids, I'm sure she can't have any. Long term cancer to deal with there as well. But she's a very sweet kid and they're a great fit. It would be perfectly in character for the two of them to be conspirators in a gag on multiple family members. She has a really good poker face. They may have enjoyed seeing reactions as they gave out the fruit baskets, and might have been laughing all the way home during their very long drive back.

She has family another 90 miles from here and they stopped in there as well the day before. I wonder if the same thing occurred there? I've met them a few times, they would NEVER pick up on the possibility of such scheming. And yes, the kids would risk going off the road with tears of laughter in their eyes at that as well.

Let us know how you like the little otter when it arrives. And perhaps post a picture. I remember when you were looking for a certain expression. It's very cute. I hope it meets your expectations.
I will. This is one I already have and it's really nice:

But I keep trying to find one with this expression (or as close as I can get):

So I think the one coming is closer.
