The Black B**ch Pub.

I don't know all the Greene King outlets but I don't think they. lie on the central "brewing" aquifer and therefore have to use inferior water.

It is no accident that Burton on Trent is the real beer capital of the UK.
it may be that Greene King Beer is an inferior quality but most if not all GK pubs carry quite a few guest ales...

If the news is to be believed, Scottish Ballet is going all 'woke' and changing traditional ballets in case they offend even one person living in Scotland. Not that anyone is going to be offended, but the ballet company are going all out to make sure that nobody - even in a minority of one is upset. Watch out for the one-legged, coloured, bi-sexual, morbidly obese, blind ballerina in act two.

It seems like all my life it has been necessary to explain what the original meaning of bitch was, so I am not surprised if the younger generations only know it as an expletive, though I would think that would make it trendy for them. ha ha
Yesterday I responded online to my work lead person with 'k'. That was at the end of the workday, then after work I was reading internet news and articles and read an article that said using 'k' for 'okay' was now considered rude, that it was a sort of sarcastic version of okay in the eyes of young people. Now the modern response is supposed to be 'kk'. Sighhhhh, I think they keep changing this stuff just to make old people feel older!

Changing our lexicon changes the way we think, altering our speech, altering our folkways over very 'silly' situation is ridiculous

Just stating my taste, Fullers ESB is the best I've EVER had.
Discovered it while staying at a Fullers Hotel in London.
Have sampled Beers, Ales, IPA's, etc. worldwide and I'll stand by this.
I homebrew and my 'holy grail' is to just come close to that ESB ( Extra Special Bitter ).
We have a pub here in Nashville, called Fleet Street, that has it on tap.

Now back to the thread...

For me the point here is this. Where does all this political correctness end and who is the Grand Poobah that decides what is right or wrong? History tells us that society cannot be sterilized and it is a waste of time and effort to try. I am a southerner and we are considered by some to be the epitome of ignorance. That is not a nice characterization and I do not particularly like it's connotations. I can go through all literature and history and remove any trace of anything that alludes to the misconception that everybody from the southern U.S. is ignorant.

Will it remove the thought from someones mind? I do not think so. All it will do is block it out of history and keep an intelligent person from seeing the ignorance that the statement everybody from the southern U.S. is ignorant represents. We cannot go backwards we must go forward. Face it and expose it for what it is. Generally intelligent people will awaken to the fact that thinking like this is pure ignorance and does nothing but stir up hate an discontent and stifles the progress of humanity.
Personally I think that the goal of some is to keep things in turmoil for one reason or another? Thanks for the opportunity to rant.

Slavery is part of world history and cannot be wiped out.

The pyramids were built by Jewish slaves, Hadrian's Wall was built by British slaves, there are still installations in Germany built by slave labour, those parts of the Burma railway that still exist what built by prisoner of war slaves, slavery still goes on in Arabia most of the castles in Wales were built by Welsh slaves and slavery has existed in most countries of the world at one time or another.

It is part of history, it might not be very acceptable,. but lots of history isn't
