The Fall Season Is Here!

For this past week, summer was having its last hurrah. We had temps in the upper 90s. Then, this afternoon, we were hit with savage thunderstorms which broke the heat. Fall like temps are in store, while we watch the track of the hurricane, Lee. One of the tracks is aimed straight at NJ once again, but meteorologists are predicting either CT or MA. We'll all feel some effects from it at any rate.

I hope they are wrong about the track. I may have misunderstood, but I thought one track was showing it may veer away & go further north until it hits land.

One track does show that, and we are praying that's the one it will follow. It depends on the jet stream.

Fall is my favorite season. I was born in the fall, married in the fall. I even have a Pinterest board called "All Fall." It's still a bit hot where I live, but I can't wait for the cooler days and nights when I can get "hygge" with a good book and make some apple butter on the stove.

By the way--I don't usually go for synthetic fragrances, but I can't get enough of P & J's "Pumpkin Spice" in the fall. It smells so yummy--I even add it to my shampoo and liquid body soap!

Winter, which is defined as rainy, lasted to May. But, in July I saw leaves turning golden. Our citrus fruit never set this year, but we've had butterflies all summer. Typically our hottest month is September but since the 1st our temps have fluctuated up and down with lots of humidity rather than the typically dry winds out of the east. So, defining seasons by the weather this long year has been difficult.

For me, strangely, Halloween night was always the beginning of Fall. It would be the coldest night of the year since winter had ended the previous March. Fall most notably is Thanksgiving Day. After that it is winter here in L.A., CA. And, it is only that by the pictures and images on Christmas cards we used to receive around the holidays. You see, L.A. enjoys near year round sunshine with an occasional week of rain or two in February. So there's really no change of clothes or change of habits all year long.

When does the fall season begin for you? For most, it may be when the calendar turns to September 1st. For others in the U.S., it's the first day after Labor Day. Still, there may be some who say it's not official until the start of the autumnal equinox on the astronomical calendar, which this year is September 23rd. For me it's all three.

I've began to take down my summer decorations today & will start to clean out the garden/flower beds over the weekend. Labor Day will be our last summer hurrah with flags & a cookout. After that, I'll do my fall cleaning for the next week & then autumn decorations go up inside the house. As soon as the days are cooler with colder nights, gourds & pumpkins for outside. On the 23rd, I plan on having a dinner with a bonfire outside.

What do you like or enjoy doing during the fall?

Actually, I prefer winter. But what I love the most is that the nights draw in. In the UK it'll be dark by 17:00, and I just love that. Darkness is somehow soothing, but I've always been a bit of a night owl.

Yes it is! I had to walk the trash up our driveway this morning. Yikes! It was 52F! I had put on my jean jacket. The leaves are soon to shower down. I love this time of year. Hope it don't get below freezing for awhile though.

I looove the Fall, my favorite season. It starts for me in mid to late September.

Oops--I meant P & J's "Pumpkin PIE." I couldn't wait 'til the equinox on Saturday and I've got it in my plug-in diffuser right now. I'm in pumpkin pie heaven! :)

Happy official Autumn, Fall Folks! Beautiful, trees and all in Sierra Valley and most places are just starting to change, the days are getting shorter, and mornings are cool and crisp. I love sipping a hot cup of coffee in the mornings and looking out my front room window of my RV and very grateful. I am always sending positive vibes to you all. I LOVE this senior forum! Lots of healing and loving prayers for those who were affected by the fires and and anything else, also. It's just a shame our beautiful planet is going through a lot too and positive energy to her as well. We are all in this together. So much love to everyone!

Fall is by far my favorite season. I so miss the autumn colors of central New York. Here in North Dakota we had a freeze warning last night, already. I'm not ready for winter (not a North Dakota winter, at least) yet.
